Liquid Cooled T/C's
« Reply #1 on: June 23, 2011, 06:40:16 AM »

Have known for some time now, that the Moco was looking into taming/controlling the heat on these engines.
Currently there are patent drawings floating around on the internet, that shows of water jacket passages, surrounding the exhaust ports, and radiators contained in the lowers, that are also equipped with fan units.
Thought you folks would like to know this info. :)

Have had a look at the drawings.
It will solve some of the heat problems around the valve guides,
but not address the noise issues associated with air coled motors.
The metrics water jackets are god for mechanical noise.

To me it looks like we will get all the downsides of water cooling,
i.e. complexity, cost and weight,
but not the superior cooling allowing high sustained HP/TQ in the heat.

Wouldn't that be a hydroglide?  Nothing new there!  :hyst:

Radiator in the lowers would cook the legs of the operator, jassayin....

No water cooled bikes for 2012.  The 2012s have been being assembled for over a week now.  No Water.
