The next morning, Mon. we made or way down Hwy. 89 south to the host hotel in Stateline, Nev.

I've got to take a break and take my wife to dinner.  I'll continue with our ride to Yosemite when ever I make it back to this thread.  Here's a sneak preview of that ride.....

We left Stateline at 7:30 a.m. Friday morning. 

Headed back over Kingsbury Grade and down to Hwy 89 and then to Hwy. 4 and Ebbett's Pass.  This is the narrowest of the passess over the Sierra Nevada and also the steepest with many, many switchbacks and twisties.

Up near the top there's still a lot of snow on the ground and lakes that are still frozen over.

Remember, two weeks early Terrie and I had drove this road in the car the day after the pass opened.  Then it closed the next day due to another snow storm.

When we stopped at a gas station down the other side, Nancy grabbed me and hugged me and said "JC, this is the most beautiful road I have ever been on".  I think she was pretty much speaking for all of em.

We stopped for a visit in Columbia.....one of California's gold mining communities from the 1800s.
