Finally Flat Footed
« on: June 25, 2011, 05:36:51 PM »

I tried every mod on my 2010 FLHTCUSE5, Lowered the front end, Lower rear shocks, 1" lower blocks and still I was on mt toes when I stopped. I have a 28" inseam and unlike my 2011 convertible my Ultra Glide juwas just too tall. I installed new lowering blocks from Road 6 Customs today and finally I can stand flat footed when I stop my bike. I lowered my bike 2" ,their blocks can lower the bike up to 3". I haven't put any miles on it yet but plan to tomorrow and will let everone know how it is.

Here are the pre-installed blocks with all hardware. The instalation only took 30 minutes.

I installed these on my FLT years ago. They looked good BUT when changing shock angle they tore up the side of my saddlebag. I took them off & fixed the saddlebag. I would keep an eye for damage to your saddlebags.

Are the 2010's that much taller than my 2009? We have the same length inseam. The only time I had a problem was once when I tried to wear my Nike's instead of my regular boots. I had a 99 Road King that had been lowered when I bought it and I didn't like it, it looked good but was a bitch to ride. It was always hitting and dragging stuff. Lost count how many times I had to put the jiffy stand back on. Good Luck!

I would look at changing the seat rather than the height of the bike. the caution would be when you're in a turn and you start scraping the frame and not being able to make the curve.  If you are only going to ride in a straight line I would not worry, but sooner or later you have to turn.

Be carefull of bottoming the tire in the fender and tearing up the wiring to the taillight.
