Just picked up a king tour pak for my (one of a kind) SESG. Need some ideas for painting it. Here's a pic of my ride.

Even thou Hot Pink would be different...ah I think the obvious choice is to paint it to match the color and graphics on the saddlebags! IMO

If it where mine I would follow the saddlebag layout.

If it's a King Tour Pak, not an Ultra, the back will need attention IMO; replicating the saddlebag graphics/colors on the tour pak sides is almost a given; but, the back needs something other than just the silver color.

An Ultra Light Bar or the newer LED light bar would be worth considering; as would some graphic design air-brushed on the back.

Good luck with your project.

I agree with Kraut on less is more.

When you see factory lowers on CVO's, they tend to be just one solid color.  I know lots of guys added lowers to the '09 SERG's as well as King Tour Paks.  Most incorporated the paint striping from the bike to the lowers and the tour paks.  I still prefer the solid lowers and the solid tour pak without the integration of the striping to either.

For me the striping separates the upper from the lower and with the striping added back into the lowers and tour pak, it gets just a little busy for me.

I like what the guys, Larry B etc, have done with theirs, but to me, less is more.

This is why our bikes are what they are.  Everyone has different opinions on what they like and do what they do according to their own ideas.

You probably can't go wrong either way.

As far as the rear of the tour paks go, I do want to add a bit of something in script to that, but still not certain of what.

Good luck with your painting ideas.

I wasn't too crazy about duplicating the saddlebag. I don't like the "stacked" (for lack of any better word) look. I went with the main color and accented with striping.

That's nice...  I really like subtle pin stripping...   :2vrolijk_21:

After looking at ALOT of tour paks on the forum I am leaning toward is design. All of the ideas look great but the stripes on the tank seem to flow with the bike and make a clean look.

I couldn't agree more!  Keep it simple and it will end up looking classy.

I was thinking on my O/B SERG that just the three red stripes on each side with a nicely placed logo or something subtle on the rear of the tour pak.  I like the silver design a lot.
