There are several different antennas for inside the fairing and you will good and bad about all of them. Dakota digital and tune trapper are popular--personally tune trapper was better for me than the Dakota was. Years ago I put a regular car antenna in the fairing and had decent results. No matter which way you go, the best reception seems to be with the stock external antennas. I have seen aftermarket shorter external antennas that screw into the stock base which work well also.

I put a tune trapper inside the fairing on my 04 pumpkin and it works great and was easy to install.

Had a tune trapper hated it. Did allot of reading hear and came to the conclution that riders who live in a metropolition area with generally good recption had good luck with either type. Riders who live in a more rual or hilly area hate them all!
