Hello HD Brothers in America....

Here is a picture of a Cat out of a 2011 Street Glide, it is in the collector, one only, and a bit of a honey comb in some metal alloy.....
Now you know what you are up against.  This is a cut and shut, the side out of the collector area, and clean up of the interior..  I hope it is a help for you with late model tourers.

Now a little help for the Cowboy down under:  Do you think the V&H Monster Ovals is a bit too much? I mean from an Old School perspective, it is just over stated?  I would like your opinions please for my new Big Blue coming.  I sort of feel the normal mufflers under the pannier boxes looks a bit weak, where Monster Ovals are about as wide as the boxes and fills in neatly.  I would like your opinions on the Art Work please..  It is a journey to get stuff here, so I need to think ahead here on the "Last Frontier"...  Is it too much or OK?

Hello HD Brothers,

and Sisters if you are out there....

Here is a cut and shut picture for you, where the front and rear headers come together in a "collector" where the Cat is, cut and shut on the inside panel of the collector......

Hope it is a help... Myself, I like the clean look of the stock pipes on a Tourer, but hate the greenie cats....

Cowboy,
Quite a few people on here have bought the Monster Ovals and they do look good under the bags.  Personally, if I was going for the Monsters, I'd go for the Monster Rounds, but that is just personal taste.  I opted for the Klockwerks Revolvers because I liked the sound of them, the workmanship, and the fact that I can turn the slash cut tips any direction I want.  Once again, it's all what you want.

Hey Red Devil !!
How ya go-in?

What is the impression of the Monster Rounds, do they fill the space under the pannier boxes?  It looks OK on the V&H site, but all I saw was an angle shot... What is the feel in person, they fill the space?

Cheers from Down Under,

I personally haven't heard the rounds nor seen them in person on a bike, but from what people on here that have them say that they look good and sound just like the Monster Ovals.  I think the rounds are probably a better fit for the SESG and they fill the cutouts nicely in the back.  I think the Ovals do look good under the saddle bags on the Ultra's.  It's a tough choice...so why don't you buy the Ovals for the Blue machine and put the rounds on your SESG.  :)

My wife has the ovals on her Ultra Limited and I have the rounds on my CVO Street Glide.  I believe the look good on both bikes and we have not heard any negative appearance comments.

Think you could share a picture of each for Cowboy to look at?   ;)

Good idea RedDevil.  I will have the wife take some pictures this afternoon when she gets home and I will publish them here.

Thanks Master Guns...it will hopefully make his decision easier so he's not wasting a lot time ordering and waiting for things to make their merry way down to Oz.  :)

Simple enough.....do what most on here with the SE Street Glides have done......go with the Fullsac X pipe for the header and the Fullsac baffles in the stock 4" mufflers.  And save yourself a bundle of money, too.  Fullsac has the whole package, tuner, map and all......give Steve a call. :2vrolijk_21:

Master Guns,
You are just TOO COOL....   That is probably the very best choice, is to put the Monster Rounds on a CVO Street Glide where the boxes wrap.  But on the flat bottom CVO or normal Ultra, the Monster Ovals do fill in the space better and look tougher...  Thank you, what a great job of it... !!  I wish my wife rode with me like yours.. TOO COOL...

33 years married, you would think I would get time off for good behavior... hehe he..  :bananarock:

JCZ, thanks for the plug on Fullsac, like I have seen many times, but it is just not available in Australia and If I told you about the Air Freight on something that big.....  It would make you pass out...   :coolblue:

The big player here for stock, backup and Warranty is V&H or stick with the HD SE range like slash down or something...  I have these SE Super Trap style 10 disk mufflers running on my SESG, and with the throat opened up to 2" and only four discs in each one, it is pretty load but not overbearing.  You can tune it to what you want by removing the disks.  It looks OK on my CVO FLHXSE2 because the boxes wrap the pipe, but on Big Blue that was shipped June 28 (arrival mid late August and conversion) on Big Blue they would be the right sound for "no blind spots" but they would look weak at about half the size of the boxes width...

RedDevil recommended that I send the picture.  Picture is worth 1,000 words they say.  I am very lucky in that my wife is an avid bike rider.  She got the unlimited before I got the CVO.  That gave me a little ammo to get mine!!  We just got back from a 4,400 mile road trip.  Our son rode his Sporster Nightser with us.  I couldn't ride a Sporty that far any more.

Hey Master Guns,

Cool Harley Family...  You are lucky to have that shared Heritage..  And thanks again for the photos...

I just saw yesterday on our Kings Riders 25 bike run from church, a slash down Monster Oval from V&H with a double skin showing out the back... It was offset about a 1/2 inch, slash forward and down, and it looked really sharp.  It was loud, and had distinctly loud cackle on the throttle as it was a straight thru muffler.  Have you seen that one?

Just wondering how you think that Monster Round would look under the Ultra boxes.  The person that was running that 2011 Street Glide Monster rounds said the Monster Ovals were not a straight shot and not as loud.  His slash down Monster Rounds looked really good on the Street Glide where the boxes wrap, just wondering how they would look on the Ultra boxes...  A bit weak or OK?

Thanks again Gunnery Sargent.....

I have not seen the V&H Twin Slash Series of Slip on Mufflers in person.  Only on their website.  I am not the best person to ask concerning the difference in sound between the rounds and the ovals.  I wear two hearing aids.  The wife has the oval with her 103 and I have the rounds with a 110.  I can hear only a small difference between the two.  V&H does make a quiet sound insert if the "stock" sound is too harsh.
