My best friend on this trip, without GPS we would still be looking for the hotel on the first day!  Bought the European Chip for the GPS, worked great.

It was very useful while on the curvey roads, the signs really did not highlight the curves that well, looked at the GPS and I could tell what was ahead...

Time to head home...we took off from Frankfurt and flew back to Philadelphia.....9 hour flight....three movies, dinner, then a snack and we were there!

The trip was great, people were very friendly and helpful, great bike riding roads, only two days of rain out of 12, scenery was unbelievable.

Gas was about 1.41 Euro per liter, which is about two bucks US a liter....US Dollar conversion rate was about 1.62 OUCH!!!!

We will definetely do another ride in Europe in the future!!!!

Napalm,
Did you route your trip and then put it into the Garmin?  If you still have it I would appreciate it if you could post it or send it to me.  I had originally planned a trip to Germany and Switzerland for this year, but went with friends who live in the UK for a 2 week tour of the UK, Wales and Scotland. (great trip by the way) I may want to think about doing my original plan next year. Thanks

I did not preload the trip...I looked at routes each morning and plugged in Tourist Information addresses for the towns we were riding to.  All I had finalized before we left was the towns and hotels we were staying in each night, we just rode and stopped along the way to see anything interesting....

In Switzerland we had the luxury of having a day totally planned by my wife's niece....she took her car and I followed...when we got to the curvy sections of the roads, I would ride ahead alone and have some fun.  I can PM our itinerary to you if you want.

Napalm.....great ride report and great photos.  Thanks for taking us along! :2vrolijk_21:

That doesn't look like the 1st class that Andy, Jon and I took to Atlanta. :nixweiss:  I think the seats were 3" wider and the leg room 2" longer......at 6'4" it didn't feel like first class.................................not even second class.  And we paid a premium for that....miserable flight :(

I don't know if someone brought this up before, but I see
that the Classic you rented had lowers. Just wondering if
the dealer puts them on or what. I also noticed the exhaust
looked non standard too.
