Need new shield for Road Glide
« on: July 15, 2011, 10:52:41 AM »

Hi all;

I currently have a Clearview GT Small on my 09 CVO RG.  I decided to do the modification that adjusted the angle and height of the fairing to accommodate the new lowers for the separate project of adding speakers.  Anyway, now that the fairing is lifted about .80" and the shield is too high.  I decided to try the Clearview GT 13 which is 2" shorter than the GT Small.  However, after a few short rides there is much more wind in the eye area.  I also have a Corbin Solo so I an sitting a little lower as well.  I am 5'9" w a 30" inseam.  Any suggestions on other shields.  I have looked at the other brands that are discussed on the site, but it is hard to determine which way to go.  All help is appreciated.

Hi tir,

     Since you have moved the fairing, perhaps some of the windshield threads in the Road Glide Ultra board would be helpful (in case you have not already checked).  My fairing is in the stock position and after trying a Klockwerks 12" and Clearview GT Small, I am very happy with the Fee Bailey's 14".  (5'11" - 32).  Good luck!

I installed the fairing brackets in late '09 and tried several windshields. Best for me is the 12" Windvest, I prefer the darker one as I look over it anyway and the dark color goes better with the bike. I get no wind in my face and helment does not buffet.

i tried several before I settled on the standard windscreen sold for the non-cvo roadglide I am a little taller and look just over.  Very little buffeting for my passenger.   Good luck

I ended up with a stock '09 Roadglide standard height windshield and like it more than anything else I've tried.  It does not have the sexy appeal of the others though.  I look over mine and the top edge angles down to about 75' in front of the bike.  I could stand to have it maybe 1" taller and that would be the perfect windshield for me.

I have a Klockwerks that I like the looks of very much, but anything over 50 mph and forget hearing your radio or keeping your helmet and glasses on your head.

Thanks guys. Been riding all weekend w the GT 13. Not bad but slot of wind in the eye area and wind noise around my ears was too much. I think I am going to try the windiest.  Seems that there is more recurve that the clearview.

Check with Clarks Custom Windshields out of Kentucky. I have an 11" Half moon on my SERG. Very good quality and the price is right.
