From Anne Aug. 7th:
Storm has cleared, bike washed, wake early, muffin, coffee and banana each-pack-up, gas-up-suns bright(fog in the distance) hit the road by 7am on track to put 500 miles under our belt on our trek home. STOP!-A tanker caring NITRO-GLYSERIN (stabilized) has crashed up ahead spilling his load and closing the hwy. So you know-you change your pace meet the folks on the roadside beside you and make fast freinds-meet JOE & CATHY and their 4 beautiful TURKISH MALAMUTE/WOLF children. They are moving from ALASKA to UTAH. Flirt with the ladies(woman) holding the stop signs trying to let us go-One and a half hours later they do. Bounce down the road some more until you are stopped again-and so on-and do it again. Enjoy the scenery, sing and laugh with one and other-have PBJ's in the meadow beside the road. (the ditch) and....TWELVE hours later we pull into PRINCE GEORGE (500 mi. later) Just like we planned. Oh I forgot to mention the RAIN and the creative fix-it job Chris preformed to replace a missing screw on "JACK"(the bike). Very McGyverist-not bubble-gum but one of my hair ties. Every day is a blessing, have you in my heart, Annie
