I thought that too, until I considered that it is more than just a paint job.

In other words The MoCo cranks out how many Ultras a year in two-tone red and they are all bone stock (I really don't know how many they make each year so if anyone knows please chime in). The thing that makes the CVO "Special" and that is that they are fully loaded, have a higher performing engine, unique paint and are hand made separate from all the other bikes (which should translate to better production quality).

I guess if one really wants "one of a kind", then they have to design and do their own paint job. It's like the leather "Camel Hump" tour pack on my '06. At first I did not like the look or the smaller storage and wanted to buy and paint a traditonal Ultra tourpack like Chains did. Then I realized that only 06 and 07 had those and that made it unique even among CVO Ultras. So I am keeping it.

But it's all perspective.

If it makes you feel any better, there aren't any more or less than there were without the info.

Exclusivity is relative and subjective.  The 100th and 105th Anniversary versions of each model are the most prolific.

1,901 is a drop in the annual Harley production bucket.  If you really want exclusivity, buy a 2010 FXDFSE2, especially in Opal Blue.  There were only 27 of those.

(Just remember... Sometimes exclusivity is created by undesirability.  Think Mid-Year ('60s) Corvettes with base engine small block and powerglide tranny with no air in green with red interior.)

Like many of us, a big thank you for your work in getting us this info. I now know there are 829 2010 FLSTSE Inferno Orange bikes! Yes, I would like to know what number out of the 829 mine is, but it is cool to know there are 828 HD riders with the same taste as me.

Based on the VIN range, I'd say the 300 number is correct and the 64 number was misinformation.  I never confirmed it for sure, so I will call and do so.  Answer coming soon.  :-)

In 2004 I had two friends that each bought the orange SE's FLHTs.  They said that they had one or two of a limited number made in orange.  They were so proud of those screaming pumpkins....When we went to Sturgis that year it was so funny to see all those orange special/limited edition bikes.  Every one made that year must have been there and we took great pleasure in pointing out every one of them.  My friends did not take the joking around tooo well that year, we of course loved it.  Just like anything....you never see one; until you buy it; and then you seem to see every one ever made.

When we got the 2006 back in 2005 we couldn't go anywhere without seeing 3-4 other Crimson bikes! We thought they were all sent to California.

While I haven't changed any of the numbers, I added a few formulas to tally up both annual and total production up to 2009.

You can enter new numbers and they will automatically tally.  Just don't enter anything into the total fields, or it will disrupt the formula.

Also, it is formated to print on one 8.5"X11" sheet.
