Hello Ladies and Gents,
Figured I'd better do the intro before I get further into chatting with you all. Retired from the Navy in 2004 (Avionics and Calibration) then worked for a railroad telecomm division for 3 years. Moved over to Iraq late 2007 and been here on the same camp since then also working telecom. Bought my first Harley (1969 FLH) in 1980, then a 78 FXE and traded it in on a 1980 FLH. Prior to that trade in I was working for the shop doing wiring jobs and assembly so I thought I was tight with the owner/"bro". Found out 2 weeks after I bought it that it had been totaled and someone straightened the frame, wheels and did a color change. I copped an attitude and moved to GoldWings in 1992 and this is my first Harley since then. Not sure what I'll wind up doing with my current stash but since I'm over here until work ends I'll probably hang to them. Should sell but I tend to hang on to stuff once I take the depreciation hit. Anyway, I have a history of auto mechanics, construction, equipment operator and then took 2 years of autobody and refinishing while in the service.
Just returned to Iraq after my month vacation but had one heck of a good time. Was going to wait for the 2012 CVO's to come out but stopped by a shop and I kinda lost my mind once I saw the 2011.5 SEUG. Made a 3,800 mile loop down through Utah, over to California (didn't know about the Tahoe run until to late) and then up the coast to Astoria before returning to Idaho. Hadn't had a chance to ride much the last 11 yrs so this trip was like the pennical of my riding career. Actually the last time I made a 4,000 mile run was back in 1978 so this year was way cool. Well that's probably TMI but gives you context on where my head is at.
Cheers and enjoy.
