Sweaty butt
« on: July 18, 2011, 09:30:13 PM »

Is it just me or is this normal? The seat gets really warm and makes your backside sweat.
I have Vance and Hines power duals and high outputs with the sert on both my bikes, don't know if it's the set up or just normal with these bikes.
I rode about 45 minutes yesterday and my wife started laughing at my shorts being sweaty lol

09SERG w/V&H Power Duals, Bubs, and SERT. Did a 2000 mile trip over the 4th and couldn't believe how wet the bottom got from the ride. New Hammock seat, could have sat in a pool of water and been as dry.

Seriously

I use Monkey Butt all the time and i but my Monkey Ass bottom dollar on the line that the stuff really works.. Another thing you need is a good pair of Wicking Underwear..http://www.rei.com/search?query=moisture+wicking+underwear    Monkey Butt up a pair of good Wicking Underwear and your ass will stay fresh and cool as a baby's bare but... GUARNTEED  :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: Check out your nearest ACE Hardware Store for the Monkey Butt,, they should carry it..  REI or any outdoor sport store will have the Wicking Underwear..

And if you experience helmet itch a trick i learned from an ole riding group i used to ride with is to rub liberally any brand of hair conditioner into your scalp prior to riding.. This really works too    :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

The problem is the vinyl  seating surface.  That is the reason I gave up on my SERG seat and went with a Corbin.  The leather seat makes a big difference.  No sweating and it is not slippery.

X2 :2vrolijk_21:  Wether it's Corbin like we have or some other brand, get a seat made with leather and the monkey butt (sweaty azz) goes away and ride in comfort. :2vrolijk_21:

Never been an issue here.  But then it only gets up to 110-112F in the summer months. :nixweiss:  Maybe that's what they mean by dry heat.

I have rode all through the south with my Corbin though.....just wasn't an issue like it is with vinyl seats. :nixweiss:

Went for a little cruise last week, said to self, " Man, this engine seems to be running really hot today", till I realized that I had the heated seat turn on HI!  :sauer005:
I believe that's called a senior moment
