58mm TB, How do you like it ?
« on: July 19, 2011, 03:31:35 PM »

Just dropped off my ride to Joe's Cycle Repair in Mechanicville,NY.
He's putting on the Roland Sands Turbine breather and H-D 58mm TB.
Along with the larger SC injectors. That will be tuned with my TTS and Woods 555
and my V&H 2/1 Pro High Output exhaust on his dyno.
Can anybody tell me if they have the same and how they like it.
This will be the second dyno, the first guy really burned me. STAY out of
Johnson,Vermont.

Thanks in advance, have 4700 miles on new ride and loving it !!!

All I can tell you is Joe's is the premier tuner for miles. Sounds like you knew that when you decided to take the ride to NY. I'll be interested to see what kind of numbers he pulls from your package.

So far he has been very helpful. I was referred to him fro Tim (parts manager) @ Mcdermott's in Fort Ann NY.

Putting one one now with larger injectors and a dyno tune to go along with Wood 555 cams,2/1 V&H Pro High Output exhaust,TTS.

Was wondering what other's found when they did it.

 Thanks ~Steve

Personally I like the HPI throttle body better although it comes at a higher cost. I have the 58 on my Jim's 131.

Performance is good but I really compare as the HPI 58 is the only TB I have had on my 131. I thought about the 62 but I am happy with the 58 and I am getting 37mpg most of the time 2up. If you were to pick side by side you would prolly pick the HPI unit as it is visually a very nice unit. Maybe one of the experts might chime in here with better info but I am happy with the HPI.

Alone the same lines the tuner talked me into ordering the Roland Sands Turbine A/C. Had it shipped to me then forwarded it to the tuner.
It is well built, heavy sucker, no pun intended. The tuner told me that it has produced the best for him.
Pick up bike end of the week. Will be interesting to say the least.

I originally had the Arlen Ness big Sucker then my tuner changed it out for a Zippers Max Flow and I now use it on my 131 motor as well and still use the football cover. I like the looks of the new RS units but I am not sure I would get $400 worth of improvement out of one. Very cool for looks though.

Yeah, I really didn't care for the stock A/C. Didn't take much for him to set me in motion. Was costly. What the heck do you do when your Tuner tells you that this is the unit he whats to use.
