That 'blue' is da bomb~  the 'skunk' reminds me of a vintage cop bike for some reason. Both are nice in those pics and I bet even better in the flesh.   :) spyder

Agree, first thing I thought was, WOW.
This looks like a cop bike, and not for me.
Blue looks great though.
Not feelin the new Ultra's.
Glad I got an 11.
Although, if I didn't need the storage space, I would def think about a  new SESG, as they look great.
Just sayin.

Spyder, I saw the skunk in person today and from afar it looked cool. As I walked up to it, personally I wasn't too impressed. I saw the Ruby Red SG right next to it and it's paint POPPED! I believe the Blue RG would be the bomb, especially in the sun! :2vrolijk_21:

You better not be getting tempted to replace that Nanner.  :nervous: spyder

Great pics Phaze... Thanks for sharing.

As much as I'm a chrome guy, when looking at the SEUC's, I think I prefer the painted-to-match frames around the TP lights rather than the chrome they are using on the 12's.

Having said that, I will never understand why they don't put chrome switches on, with all the other chrome they use on the handlebars.  :nixweiss:

It's a pretty cheap upgrade for a very expensive bike!

I thought about putting those on my nana until I rode my buddys RK. He had them and in comparison, personally I kinda like the contrast of the black buttons on the chrome covers. But then again...I ride a yeller motorsickle! :nixweiss:

I think that the colors on the blue RG are the same as on the 2011.5 CUSE.  It is a good looking bike!

Just more 'stuff' that has to be replaced on these custom/expensive bikes.  OK for a bar hopper, but not for a serious rider. But, they're not trying to design it for everybody.  Copying the custom designers at the bike shows is OK to a point, but when the wheels get too big to handle and ride good or the sound system gets impractical for a serious touring bike, then, you've gone too far down the 'show' path.   spyder
As I see it the SG is a weekend or overnight touring or day ride bike that looks great.
If you need a serious touring bike buy an ultra!!!   The SG was never intended to be an ultra!!!

And it was never intended to have Ultra lowers, home 400 watt stereo system with 8 speakers either but if you add a tourpak and you have an ultra.

They finally figured that out this year and now you can order the tourpak from the factory painted to match your bike.

Takes a lot more than a tour pack to make a street glide an SE Ultra.

I have a SG and I use it for cruising (occasionally) and long distance riding as well.  It does both very well, too.  In about a minute, I can change from the stock seat to my cushy Ultra seat and thrown on the TP and it's ready to ride an iron butt ride.  Going for an evening stroll?  One screw changes the seat back to the SG seat and the TP pops right off, and there you go.  Now that I have the Klock Works 8.5" Flare, I don't even have to change the windshield out like I used to.

My last bike was an Ultra that I did the same way.  For what it's worth, the next bike will be and Ultra of some sort that I strip down with detachables.

Well the ultra lowers are only there to hold the speakers and the 8 speaker stereo is perfect for
the hot rod styled SG.

Look, I am fully aware that you can add things to one and strip things off of another and make
it anything you want it to be. In stock form these are 2 different bikes marketed to 2 different types
of riders. trying to compare the two is like comparing apples to oranges. The MoCo does not market the
SG as an ultra otherwise there would be no need in building two different bikes.
