Thanks for answering my questions.

BTW my dealer thought that HD hadn't released this color yet.

Please be sure to get a detailed written service ticket on your leak. That way if any parts start showing corrosion in the future you won't have to argue over getting replaced.

Regards

Jerry

Jerry, Thanks for the good advise! I will get them to write it all down.

Congrats on the great ride - Hope this model makes its way to Oz. I think the black wins hands down as the best coloured 2012 SG.

Sounds like the bleeder was just loose if the black cover got blown off.....not sure if checking that is in the pre delivery insp. done by the dealer.

Yep Bleeder was loose and so was the Master cylinder cap. The Speaker plug in was hidden up inside the fairing. So other then the switch and the fuel tank trim, it's all good.
Guess the people that build Harley are human after all  ;)

Sorry to hear about the few problems  >:(, but it is a beautiful bike. Hope all get's corrected quick, enjoy!
The dealer that I got it from is pretty amazing. We will see, but I'm sure it will happen really quick . And Thanks!

Yea that brake fuild is Really caustic!! So be sure they list all of the parts it got on so you can just produce the service invoice and have them replace whatever reacted to it a month, or year later.

Boy I sure wouldn't want them taking my motor apart to replace a cylinder jug because of a brake fluid leak....

I am looking forward to seeing the bike first hand.  I agree that it is the absolute best color.  The rest are period dated and a few years from now may not be appealing to a buyer.

What's your assessment of the fit and finish quality?

I am hoping you only paid MSRP.

Also, did your dealer have a "dealer service fee"? Not the service/set up fee.

I too have my Reinharts ready to go on this bike. I assume no ECM change was needed. It wasn't on my 2010.

BTW Can you shed some light on how any water from rain or washing the bike gets out of the saddlebag speakers?

Regards

Jerry

Congrats!!!  I love the bike!  I am making my deposit as soon as the ENCS gets them on the stock system for my military discount.  I cancelled my deposit on my 2011 when I extended so I am very happy they brought out another Black bike:)  Please PM if you are willing to email me some close up pics.  I wont be home until stateside until Jan and would love to see some close ups of the paint details.

Thanks,
Joe

As far as cost goes, I traded two bike for this one. On the contract it actually showed a discount on the CVO. The only reason the contract showed a discount was to keep the cost they were putting in my trades down. The dealer I got it from didn't even charge me freight and setup. (that's the best part of buying more then one bike from the same dealer) It helps to have some dealer loyalty if you want a better price.

Fit and finish is overall good. There are a few things that seem acceptable in the world of Harley, that me as a sport bike rider cringe at, but seem to be common place. The only things that are irksome are the back piece of plastic on the driver seat, and the misaligned CVO plate on the fuel tank. I will take photos later.

I plan on doing a head pipe and already ordered my Power Vision to flash my ecu. It doesn't run bad with the Rineharts now, but I want the flamethrower on my right leg to go away.
As far as rain, looks like you just tip the saddlebag lids open and it should all run out. That looks like the only way. I worry that it leaks into the saddle bag more then how to drain it out

Thanks for sharing!!   I am hoping to see a ship date soon....real soon.

Be sure to look at TTS Mastertune for your heat problem. Another good solution.

It looks like Harley is following the same route they did in 2009 when they starting shipping the CVO's then.. Down I-75 to South Florida dropping goodies off all rhe waydown. Then a fan out from there.

Regards

CVOStreetglide, when you say you hope to see a ship date real soon, does that mean your dealer knows they are getting one, just not sure when?

My local dealer says he cannot look any further out than September.  Is that true of all dealers?  I thought someone said their dealer showed one coming in October.  Just wondering how much my dealer is telling me is true, and how much is salesmen being salesmen.  :nixweiss:

Mine has one out in October, improved to September possibly improved further. Many dealers will trade with each other too but both have to agree. It's not like cars where if the car is in inventory at a dealer and isn't sold it can be found on the dealer locator system and transferred to a selling dealer.

I found my own deal in 2010 and went and got it. I ay do it again.

Almost had one today. But there was some paint issues from the factory.  Of course they would fix it but we couldn't find out how long it would take to get new parts.

Keep your eye out.
