Paint Code - Well at least it's not about Oil....

Anyone have the correct paint code for the 2011.5 Rio Red Ultra...
Got a few new parts that need the red paint.... ;D

whoops forgot, you can't ask a newbie question here! :P

Point is I have the Rio Red and after calling around you can't
get a can of it from any dealer yet, only a "touch up" bottle.

Thought maybe someone here had put the CVO StreetGlide
rear facia on their 2011 Rio and had a code or paint mix formula

Tough to match some of the HD stuff...

and yeah it's in the wrong forum, that tapatalk
screens small and my fingers are too big... hard
to hit the right one.. LOL

You'll likely just have to send your painter one of your side covers so they can do a match.  There used to be a thread here somewhere on the codes for some of the older bikes, but I've not seen one on any of the '09 and up bikes yet.

Yeah  I figured as much about the CVO codes, they don't want people making up fakes and selling them to
unsuspecting buyers (then again if you can color match it, you can do it any way.)

Got a local guy that does HD dealers stuff, he can and has matched up the Rio Red, it's several coats
of silver base with candy red/orange or some combo over it. 

Probably cost me more to paint one fender than it's worth but having the cvo facia and fender with LEDs will
look smokin on the RG.

Hoped someone had already done a match and had the formula for this color..

Aint nuthing cheap or ezy with HD...

Actually Gary they have released the codes in the past. Trouble is they're never an exact match. Always a shade dark or a shade light. Still if you can get the code it gives your painter a place to start. PPG suppliers do a really good job of mixing paint that matches. Not sure if they have a better spectrometer or what but that's been my experience.

As to TC already having said this. Isn't that what we do on these threads ? Practice our redundancy skills that is.

A good painter can match the color.
My painter has matched the 01 SERG, the 05 SEEG, the 09 SEUC and is getting ready to match the 11.5 SEUC.
But a painter that can match paint probably should be called an artist.
And we all know how tempermental an artist can be.
It just takes patience on our part.
