Linbar 1/2" off what would you do?
« on: July 22, 2011, 08:08:16 PM »

FINALLY got the Linbar in after 16 days and the bottom bolt holes are about 1/2" off.  I was wondering what you would do.

1. Send it back
2. Try to make it work

Thanks!

Why did it take so long?  Mine was waiting for me a week after I ordered it.  I'm getting it put on next tues.  I chose the Lindby Bar with the fold down pegs.  I'd say 1. if it is possible.  :)

I'd definitely send it back. You probably paid good money for it and being off that much is ridiculous.

X2 .  You force it, you might be able to make it work but then you also run the risk of popping the chrome plating.....why take that chance.

I'm thinking about the lindby linbars as I feel it really matches the mini ape handle bars.  By any chance do you have a pic of it on your bike?  Thanks!

I do think that the Lindby Linbar does compliment the mini ape handle bars very well.
My bike is presently in the shop because I'm having an issue with my ABS brakes and the local dealership is returning them to Harley so I won't have my bike for a couple of weeks.  I'll see if I have a picture of my bike which shows the handlebars well.  You might have to wait a while on the photo.  Sorry!

I went with the Kuryakan bars. Fold out pegs when you need them and the profile fits the bike.

Your Kuryakan bars look great and they look very much like the Lindby Linbar engine guard. They both continue the look established by the handlebars.

Perfect fit no modification. The fold out highway pegs are great they disappear when not in use.
I looked at the linbar and saw them on someone else's bike but these worked better for me.

The wrong part number was ordered.  get the one that is made for the deluxe FLSTN.  this guard has a center tab that allows you to raise or lower the guard in order to line up with the side holes.  I really like the look of the linbar.  the quality appears to be outstanding.
