Rinehart 4" or V&H Monster Rounds
« on: July 23, 2011, 01:45:22 PM »

I'm about to purchase one of these but having a hard time making up my mind.  I thought I was all set on Rinehart till I saw and heard some monster rounds.  I'm looking for a deep Harley sound but not obnoxiously loud.  Has anyone tried both?

Did you make a descsion?

I just bought a 2012 CVO Street Glide and want Chrome Tips, because I went with Black.

I like Billet End caps and some bark from the pipes, but a nice touring level. ( I know I want some of both worlds)

Like to know your experience.

I have V&H Power Duals and Monster Rounds on my '10 CVO SG. My buddy just installed 4" Rineharts on his '10 Ultra Limited (103). He also is running V&H Power Duals. Side by side at Idle, they are similar although the Rinehart's are a tad louder and less deep. Under power, the same holds with the Rinehart's having a distinctive raspier sound when you really roll on. We were surprised that there is not much difference between the two although I think if I was making the call between them, I would go Rineharts.

Hope this helps.

Great Info,

How about quality between V&H and Rinehart? Does the Chrome hold up better on one better?

Again Thanks

This is hearsay only but I have heard some complaints about the later Rinehart quality. Not sure if it is common or just anomalies. I have ran V&H for years on all my bikes and never had an issue.

I've heard good about both - I selected the Monster Rounds with Dresser Duals - I though they were a bit quieter and had a deeper growl than the Rienharts.  I wavered a bit though on the decision...  Very happy with my choice!

How much loader would the Hi Output be versus the monster rounds?

Has anyone seen any dyno differences between these two pipes? I read the open design of the hi output would decrease power, I just wander if that would be true on the CVO 110.
