New Floorboards
« on: July 25, 2011, 02:01:31 PM »

Just put these new Kuryakyn Flip Boards on over the weekend.  Hoping they will give my feet some options when I leave for Sturgis on 5 August.

Thanks Steve!  I'm getting ready for some 750+ mile days and find the more options for positioning feet, legs. etc the more comfortable the ride.

yep, by the time you start thru those long mid-west states, you'll be very appreciative of any optional foot rest positions.  I remember almost going to a side saddle position a few times to relieve pressure points and fanny fatigue.  Ride safe and watch out for critters & cages.  spyder

I am meeting my friend from Hilton Head in Atlanta Friday evening.  Sat. AM we are headed to Sturgis. It is right at 1540 miles from Atlanta .  We plan to do an IBA Bun Burner 1500 and be there Sunday Eve.  I did a similar distance from here to Scranton, Pa and back in the spring under not the best weather conditions, so hopefully this one will work out also!!   ;D

Thanks hooligan.  Looking forward to Ted Nugent at the Full Throttle on Tuesday!  Also the riding out there is spectacular.

Back from Sturgis trip.  Total of 4071 miles.  Did an Iron Butt on way out.  First day Atlanta to north of Kansas City 826 miles.  Second day to Sturgis 1613 total miles on odometer in just over 35 hours.  Overall great trip. Ony problem was oil light came on on way home just outside of Little Rock in rain.  I was able to call my local HD dealer and talking to mechanic determined problem was electrical.  When rain stopped and bike dried out the light went off.  Only other thing was loss of a wheel weight on way home causing some vibration.  Bike now has over 25,000 miles.  2 trips to Sturgis, 2 Iron Butts and no major problems.  Gonna take to dealer this week for 2 new tires, oil changes and much needed detail.
