Harley, back in the garage again
« on: July 26, 2011, 10:29:30 AM »

I had an 03 Vrod.  I traded that for an 05 Road King.  That eventually was sold and i had an 07 GL1800.  Well thats gone and in its place is an 11 CVO RG ultra.  So far im pleased.

Congrats on the new one!  How would you compare the GL to the RG?
I put about 350 miles on it over the weekend and thats all the riding ive done so far.  I quick recap of what i like better about each.

Road Glide better
1. Paint, chrome, styling.  This is not even close
2. Fits me out of the bock better than the wing.  I'm 5"-7" and 30" inseam.  I had to put a back rest on the GL and shim the bars up and back.
3. Stereo, nav, ipod and stuff.  Much easier to use.
4. Low speed and parking lot handling is much better in my opinion.
5. The lugage is great.
6. did i mention the paint chrome and styling..... :)
7. the 6 speed tranny.
GL1800 better
1. HP
2. high speed handling.  Over 70 miles per hour.
3. reverse gear.
4. center stand.
