Memorial Day
« on: May 29, 2006, 12:51:11 AM »

I just returned from work in Spain.  While there I got notice that a friend had passed away in Honolulu.

I visited there Thursday May 25th for his services which were held on the fantail of the Missouri.  My dad served on the ship for a short time and I think I was able to find his state room.  Pretty heavy stuff with the services for my friend there and all.

I hope we can all take time Monday, to remember why we have the great country we do.  We can all remember in our own way, just remember too take a moment and reflect.

The Saturday of Memorial day weekend, My husband organized and led a ride from the Richmond HD shop where we are HOG members to the Amelia State Run Cemetary, where a few folks (about 25) placed flags on the graves of veterans.  It was a real make you feel good deed, and after we rode to lunch, like any great HOG member would.

A very nice gesture and time well spent.
