iPod geeks--Help!!
« on: July 27, 2011, 07:53:03 PM »

I have a 32 gig iphone and a 32 gig ipod touch.   I sync them both on my laptop and don't have any problems.   I just got my grandaughter an 8 gig ipod touch.  She will not want all of my stuff, and it wouldn't fit anyway.   Can I use my computer to load music into hers?  I think when I plug it into my computer it will think I've got another ipod touch and try to match it up to the other two devices.  How should I handle this?  Can I set up another itunes account on the same computer?
Thanks

I think that when you plug it in and set up for the first time all you have to do is give it a differant name. then create a playlist just for it.   I THINK

Set up playlists just for her, and under the music tab in iTunes, tell it to synch only selected playlists.

Open iTunes, select "Edit" from the upper left, then select "Preferences"  In the preferences menu select "Devices".  In that menu you should have the option to "Prevent ipods, iphones, and ipads from automatically syncing."  Select that and then you should be able to manually chose what to sync to her device.

I think... :confused5:

You can choose what to sync as the members said above but a separate itunes account will prevent you paying for all the new tunes that she will want and you won't in the future ! Learned that the hard way from my kids !

If her iPod is not on your account reformat the device in iTunes on your account. You can have as many as 5 devices.  Once it is on your account you can continue to update the playlist. I have five with 2 iPads and 3 iPhones all 32 gigs. Each has it own playlist label.  The pads with 64 gigs each are sync with the music library.  Music wise my iTunes library is 882 purchased songs and videos not including those dub from CD’s.  You guys with those Street, Road, and Ultra;s automatically sync with your stereos.  I have a UNIQ Cycle Sounds system with a Bluetooth module and the wireless volume controller.  I only have a 300-watt system, which is great until I pass 50 m/h on my SERK. I have sub-woofers in the saddle bags with it own amp that I cannot hear over the 4” Rino’s.
