Don't leave with key/fob on bench....
« on: July 30, 2011, 11:36:05 AM »

....because you'll have to walk home from the chiropractor to get them.(because i forgot the damn code! Gotta make one I'll remember...I thought I did that already..humph!)

Thinkin' of getting another key and fob...hiding the key on a small twist-offable ty-wrap....and keeping the fob locked in a saddle bag with the battery NOT installed.

How about just having the working parts of a fob surgically implanted? ;)

That was a joke, but the more I think about it the more I can see that actually becoming reality in the future.  Implant a chip that communicates with your vehicles, your ATM, etc.

Keep that little card with the procedure and code from your manual in your wallet. If you are prepared...you will never need it.  ;)

What ever you do, don't lock the key and fob in the saddlebag with the battery removed. Why you ask?
How the hell you going to unlock the saddlebag with out the key, it's in the locked saddlebag!
Don't ask how I know about this.

Been there too.  Lucky to have remembered the procedure and my code.  If you keep an extra fob on the bike, you can wrap it in aluminum foil so that it will not be disarm your alarm.  Just an alternative to consider.

Just flip the battery upside down in the extra fob.  If you need it all you have to do is flip it right side up.

I keep the little wallet card that has the procedure and code written on it.  The bad thing, when I forgot my FOB I didn't realize I had the thing in my wallet.................I'm an idiot sometimes ;)
