One step forward and two steps back?
« on: August 01, 2011, 06:54:30 PM »

Just finished install of Zippers 575 cams along with the hyd tensioners and cam plate on my 2005 SEEG 103.  Now I want to change my mufflers before I go to dyno tune...  The plan was to quiet the beast with either the Bub Stealth 7 or V&H Monster Rounds.  I have been running stage one the V&H Oval Slip-Ons and looking to change.  But my question is less about mufflers choice as it is about these quieter mufflers defeating the performance benefits of the cams?  I don’t want to take one step forward only to take two steps in reverse…  Please help…

What head pipes are you running

575's with stock head pipes will give you a decel pop so you will need to install a plug "from zippers" into the rear head pipe. The plug has a hole half the diameter of the pipe.

given the choices .I would stay with what you have.
if you want quieter and not loose anything . and havent bought anything yet :nixweiss: rush slip on's. pick the baffle of your choice ? or as much as I hate kury stuff  :nervous: crushers work good and are quieter than most until you wick it pretty hard.
they actually sound really nice to me :nixweiss:

I have a SupperTrap 2:1 on my 131" with 12 disc and the bike is pretty quiet. A friend has a set of the RB LSR 2:1 on his Dyna with a built 113" and that set up is pretty quite too. Both exhaust also offer excellent performance, the RB setup will hurt your wallet though.....
