Fullsac Stage II
« on: August 05, 2011, 04:25:49 PM »

Just did Stage II.  Have catless stock pipe, 2" cores, Andrews 54H cams, Fullsac end caps, .0300 Cometic head gasket, and the TTS MMastertune with the supplied stage 2 map from Fullsac.  Finally have a $40,000 bike that runs right.  Thanks Steve and Alice.  2009 FLTRSE3 (Yellow)

Me too, about 6 weeks ago with 2.25" cores, X pipe, and Wood 555 cams. Used Steves tune as well, runs STRONG with zero pop on decell. Also did the 30T changeover as suggested by Steve. This site and my CVO are awesome! Enjoy

Me 3 but went with V&H cans and had it dyno tuned.  Slight increase over Steve's map but probably not worth the extra cost if I had to do it over again.  Bike runs great.

hotrod50, I was wondering when going from the Fulsac stage 1 to the stage 2 with the cams and thinner head gasket do you really feel the performance. Not just dyno numbers, but seat of the pants riding. I noticed on the Fulsac website that going from stock to stage one made a huge difference, but the numbers from stage 1 to stage 2 were not as great. I think I will be pulling my lifters and pushrods to hopefully  get rid of the 2200 to 2800 valve train noise as per some of the posts on the sight. However, I am concerned about pulling the heads just to change to the thinner gasket.Just looking for your comments on this. Thanks in advance. CAHDBIKER

Did the Stage II in August, '09.  CVO 110 Andrews 54 Dyno Test.    The SERG still runs strong.   Enjoy hotrod50!

I think the difference between 1 and 2 feels greater than stock to 1.  Just seat of the pants, and it just seems to run properly.  I never felt like it ran right before.

HOGDMIKE, 126MPH  is my limit.(just kidding around)Thanks for the input guys. I think I will change to andrews 54s and stage two map,get some adjustable lifters and preload to lose lifter noise as per some of the posts I have read from Hillside Cycle.  But I will leave the head gasket alone until I need to do something to the top end. I don't want to take a chance on any leaks. Thanks again guys. CAHDBIKER

Have the Stage II parts sitting in the garage, Ultra on the lift and about to begin the transformation.  Discussion with Steve when investigating Fullsac was VERY productive and pleasant.  Frankly, the 110 ci makes reasonable power (especially compared to the 96) but hoping the heat will reduce a bit with the non-cat and a more reasonable air/fuel ratio.  Power should be a pleasant bonus

Haven't open up a Harley yet but you just have to twist a wrench - right?  :bananarock:

rolford, there is an excellent video on You Tube showing how to do a cam replacement on  Big Twins including removing and adusting the pushrods etc. It is sponsered by J&P cycles. It is lengthy and very detailed, best one I have seen. CAHDBIKER

Thanks cahdrider, I had already found the cam replacement video.  Agree it is a great video and it was the reason I decided to tackle the cam.  Seems the cam is great bang for the buck, especially after the header is off.

About to swap inner cam bearings, thanks to local shop (The Kinetic Playground) that is loaning me the required tools.  Good to have independents around that still are will to trust and help fellow wrenchers.

Taking my time and following the video and books.  Worked when I split the cases on a 911, of course, I was younger and had more brain cells to work with :-\

Cheers,
