The 12s have nothing on the 09s.

If they'd made a 12 O/B with an eagle on the tank or fairing, maybe some of us might have been tempted but by now, many have tweaked the 09s to where a trade wouldn't make economical sense.

But then again, isn't that what we do...get a bike to the point of perfection only to sell it and start the tweaking all over again on a new one?  :nixweiss:

Not necessarily, though obviously some do.  See Reply #11, above.   8)

Nope...love the O/B too much.  I've seen some beautiful bikes, but nothing touches the '09 O/B.  Plus, as mentioned earlier, I too just about have this one the way I want it.

I rode a 2012 skunk at Sturgis last week just to see what the difference was.  I liked the new style bars a little better than my 09 and the heavy breather gave what felt like a little more room on the right side of the bike, but no other real difference.  The guy at the HD demo area tried to explain to me how great it was and how much better it was than my 09, at least until I told him I had the 09 CVO RG then he changed his tune.  Saw nothing that made me want to change and my BSR agreed.  The black and white color scheme is cool, especially with the ghost flames in the sunlight but did not care for the skull emblems.  I will stay with the O/B bike, even though all 1500 or so that were made must have been at Sturgis... my friends have made a game out of pointing out to me all of the O/B RGs we see in Sturgis... but they are just jealous!

I would trade my 09 O/B SERG for a 12 Black/White in a heartbeat,,, if they had a chrome motor. I do not like the black and not willing to spend the dollars to change all the motor stuff after I get it to chrome. I love the skulls, very cool, only thing that has them from the factory and I like Black & White (had 16 white and 5 black cars/trucks over the years). But no trade with black motor.

I have owned 2 CVO bikes and with the exception of the 2010.5 Ultra I have never had the urge to trade up. Funny thing is how many people tell you that the 09 SERG is still my favorite or "they haven't made one that good looking in a few years"! I guess with some maturity I dont have the energy to put all the extras on a bike "UNLESS" I love the bike first! I also love the Road Glide. Here are photos of my two CVO's.

CVO 2. I will stay with my 2009. This is a great thread because its funny how long I thought about it at Sturgis last week and you all really go through the same thoughts as well. To me HD shows signs of excellence in designs and colors then they get totally off base for a year or three.

They hit it right in 09. Those of us with one just can't find anything we like better, even if it's a newer model. I think they made a mistake taking away all the chrome.

i dont like any of the three colours. I do like the bags on the '12 over the '09 and the new seat. Not worth the extra money for those few improvements. Maybe next year if the colours are better and there a more upgrades.
