Just read an article about them last night and would like to see if anyone with the 110s have tried them.

Sorry have not tried that one but I have read in past issues of AIM that running two on the 96CI motor makes a noticable drop in temp.  I wonder if Baker makes a 5qt oil that will make for cooler temps.

I'd like to know how you 'run' two Oil Buds on one bike   :nixweiss:

I thought the same thing when I read it.  It was mentioned that they were run in series-still I wonder.  It sounds like more fittings that increase your chances of being stranded secondary to an oil leak  ;)  At least the oil will only be 230 degrees as opposed to 245

Doesn't sound like it will be a "plug and play" install with the factory oil cooler in place?

I have been e-mailing Bud at Oil Bud and he indicated that he doesn't recommend running the Oil Bud in tandem with the stock OEM cooler because of complex plumbing required.  I figured you'd just put them in series, but maybe I am missing something.

Running them in series is what I took away from all this (two Bud coolers in place of the OEM one).  I'm happy with the OEM cooler and forward motion  ;)

In the video the oil bud ran 35 degrees cooler. How much does the HD cool?

100 degree day after 80 PH on highway and nml city riding and oil temp is around 230-240 with the HD OEM coller.

Ok, after looking at the video (again) he compares oil temps with 2 bikes. One that does not have a cooler to one that does. (-35 degrees). To clarify if you took off the HD cooler on our CVO"s how much hotter would they run?  Bottom line......HD vs. Oil Bud.

Sorry, my bad.  I would like to see HD cooler vs Oil Bud.  If its better by 20 degrees I'll change mine out.  But I am interested in the basic question or how hot the 110 motor gets without an oil cooler.

My '03 103 upgraded bike ran hot until I put Amsoil in.  Then it never got over 265, even on really hot days in parade runs.  Don't all the newer 110's come with synthetic?  Would a change to Amsoil have any effect in that case?  Interested to hear some comments on this issue before I find my cvo.

Imho, the oil itself won't make a ton of difference on the cooling itself, but better oils will certainly hold up better.

One of the best things you can do is to make sure your stock cooler, which I believe is a 6 row Jag, is working efficiently.  I just removed mine after inspecting it and noticing that alot of the fins were clogged. it's very hard to see unless you turn the front wheel and really get in there and look closely.

When I could finally hold it up to the light, I could see that almost 75% of the fins were clogged with debris, mostly tiny little pebbles and cottonwood fuzzies.  Took a .020 finger gauge and ground down the edges so it just fit the gap and I went one by one cleaning the gap and straightening each fin.  That helped tremendously in the stop and go in Sturgis. Before it would get up to 270+ and start idling down to 600 and was really struggling.

Not in a CVO....but Amsoil dropped about 10-15* in my Wife's Sporty when changed from Syn3.
