I have been following the Hoka Hey Challenge and the HD Farrow dealer in Ohio posted these pic's. I believe it may be the leader. Looks like a CVO to me. What are your thoughts?

Not sure if I have posted this to the correct thread. Oh well...

Not sure.....what makes you think he might be the first place?

What makes you think it's a CVO?  The arch of the saddlebags to the fender facia is out of line.

My wife's 09 Street Glide isn't a CVO but shows what I mean by the arch of the saddlebags lining up with the fender facia...

I could be wrong but if I had to make a call......I'd say it's not a CVO. :nixweiss:

Only a couple riders had been thru this HD dealer stop so far when this pic was posted to their web site. So it was either the leader or 2nd bike. As far as it not being a CVO. I did not know HD made bikes with the extended bags and lights like the CVO's. I thought that was specific to the CVO's. Learn something new everyday.

The MoCo doesn't make them but there have been several fender/facia/saddlbag sets on ebay (where I got my wife's) for those doing trike conversions.  Also, you can buy all of it at a dealership if you have a CVO vin#.

The lines on that guys bike are way off......looks like it may have had damage or been dropped or something.

Are you close to the dealership?  Ask them if that was the first place rider and what the model was that he is riding.

As a matter of fact......after a closer look.....I'm going to say that those bags look to be aftermarket bags and that's why the radius isn't lining up.

JCZ, Good suggestion. I am about 20 minutes from this dealer and am going to try and get over there tomorrow. I will ask them. Thanks. And by the way , it looks like your wife has a nice bike there...

Last year the Hoka Key event got some press for having some of its "own" riders in the mix.  They supposedly couldn't "win" any prize but were still involved.  This rider and bike seem all too likely to be one of those riders.  If not in it for any prize award he's there for sponsorship money for himself or the event which is why all the ugly stickers are plastered all over the bike.

Maybe the bags are overloaded with things needed for the ride and thats why they are not lining up. A sponsor is not going to give you any money without them being seen. Stickers do come off. Between time of from work and food, fuel, entry fees etc. You would probably need close to $5000.00 to do the ride. 2 weeks of stickers on the bike are not a big deal if your getting money for it.

My bags (and my wife's) have been overloaded on every long distance touring ride we've been on.  I think that probably applys to most touring riders......our saddle bags line up perfectly.  Those are after market saddle bags and CVOs never came in flat black.  Can't speak to the stickers but my money says that's not a CVO. :2vrolijk_21:

An example of a bike that's really loaded, my wife's 09 Street Glide (look at the way those bags line up)....  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=40248.msg620123#msg620123

No CVO emblem on the back of my '11 SESG either......

The other curious item in that pic is the exhaust end caps--though very dirty they look like 2011 SESG caps :nixweiss:

Yeah, that pic appears to be Will Barclay, last years winner. Bike is a stock '08 Electra-Glide Classic.
