I'm new to the CVO community having purchased my first, a new 2011 CVO Road Glide Ultra in Baton Rouge, just a few weeks ago. I have been riding off and on for 47 years, the last 10 on H-D's. I wasn't looking to upgrade but back on May 24th, I rounded a right hand hairpin turn a little too hot while coming down a mountain in East Tennessee. The road took a sudden dip and I lost the rear end of my 2009 Street Glide. I then highsided over the left lane and hit a steel guardrail and landed on the backside of the guardrail. Thankfully, I was wearing a 3/4 helment. That helment saved my life. There was a chunk out of it behind my left ear. Unfortunately, according to the Orthopedist, I held on to the bike too long and tore my right side rotator cuff. If you haven't had rotator cuff surgery, you don't want to add that to any bucket list, trust me! I'm still in recovery mode. Although I have a beautiful new Rio Red/Black Ember RGU in the garage, I still can't ride it! I was introduced to this site by my best riding buddy who rides CVO's. I have enjoyed the site and plan to keep reading. There's a lot of good info here! Ride safe!
