Cfr mufflers
« on: August 19, 2011, 08:02:23 AM »

Love the sound, buy not very loud like everyone says they are. Just got my xpipe, going to put it on tonight. Will that make them louder and deeper?

It should. I just got a set and am interested in your outcome. Follow up here so we can see what happened. I've heard they are loud with true duals.

LarryB....What are you using to tune this setup and what head pipe did you use?

I'm wanting to put the CFR pipes on my 2011 SERGU along with the Fullsac x-pipe (or other cat-less header) but every time I walk into a dealer to ask about it they keep saying that you can never tune this setup because the CFR's, with that header, are too 'open' and there's not enough back pressure.

Saldana9...Please post an update here after you get them installed.

I've had this set-up for quite a while now and I can't stand the stumble. If anyone finds a tune for the TTS with Fullsac X-Pipe B, then please pass it along. The sound is unmatched but the performance suffers. Do a search for my video on here or YouTube and hear how awesome they sound...

I am using the stock head pipe that I remvoe the Cat from about 3 years ago, I'm tuning mine with TTS but have done others with the SEST. i have put them on several V&H power duals, but I know that Steve"s X pipe will work great with it.
the tuning does get tricky espeicially on the bottom end, lack of back pressure. we found that by installing a $30.00 set of torque cone in front of the head pipe that we get all the back pressure needed to remove the Stumble

what torque cones? post a link. i have a 2012 roadglide.

I installed my set today. They are deep but not real loud with the stock head pipe. I'm gonna have to get a aftermarket head pipe to get rid of the heat. I lost a little low end torque but not to bad. I'm interested in the torque cones also. I've read people have put in head pipe baffles  to increase back pressure. Cary is supposed to be working on some new baffles to retrofit the old pipes and make them eaiser to tune. overall I'm happy for now at least till I save up so more extra cash.

so did getting rid of the stock head pipe also get rid of the heat on the right side from the cat?

you can find Torque Cones at any major parts supplier, J&P, drag spec, dennis kirk. we added a set of cones to an 06 EG with V&H dresser duals with the CFR's. sounds and tuned great.

Will these require a different tune? What size do I get? I see some of them say not for 2011 models, I have a 2012.

I have had CFR's on my 2010 SEUC since new with stock headers and a custom intake and since they finally got my motor/motors running awesome and I have 9500 miles on my last motor the heat is tolerable and the sound is awesome. Living the dream finally!!
