You guys duck and cover! Just in case, FYI we learned by accident that our homeowners policy reimbursed us for the loss of food from the fridge and freezer due to the 4 days without power.

Periods of heavy rain heah UPTA CAMP, but light winds and nothing even on par with one of our many summer Thunderstorms. The two boats I've got moored out front are riding easily on their moorings and visibility is about 4 miles on Sebago Lake heah bouts. Like most of these Hurry-canes,they lose most of their snap crackle and pop by the time they reach this far north. Hope everyone further south is doing ok

Our street came out OK, only brief power outage. Tree limbs down on streets around us and some residual flooding in low areas. Still about 300,000 without power now and the entrance to the Midtown Tunnel is flooded with a million gallons of water, they think the flood gates kept the tunnel from flooding.
An 11yr old kid killed in Newport News when a tree fell on his apartment. A 30 ft boat got beached on Ocean View beach and two people and one cat rescued yesterday.

So happy to see the storm didn't materialize like they thought it would high tide and all.

Feel bad for those that have much to clean up and fix and also feel bad for those that left their hoses in preparation. Being over prepared can sometimes make you mad inside but compared to what might have happened it is a minor nuisance, feeling relieved for you guys :)

I remember leaving Wrightsville early one morning 10 years ago trying to beat a storm and then battling trying to see the break-wall with no way to turn around in the inlet. We went outside watching the radar on the Furuno on our way to Lauderdale in 25-30's. I have been in a few storms but that one brought me closer to God. When I see these storms it's easy to remember those times.

No power for the last 16 hrs and probably won't be any for at least another 24. I am at the end of the line on a road with very few people. Am sure my priority rating is a negative something as to Central Maine Power's restore power rating scale. Not much damage at this end of the lake. Lots of crap on the ground, most of it dead branches that needing pruning anyway. The boats moored out front were never in danger as the south to north path of the storm cause the wind to pass over my little cove until it hit the main body of the lake. Heard on the news the north of the lake got smashed hard. Figured as much before the storm. People up that way are so used to the storms coming down out of the mountains heading north to south they forget that tropical storms go the other way.
So my cousins will be up tomorrow to pick up the grounds for me and my biggest chore is keeping the generator running so I don't lose a bunch of nice steaks and stuff in the freeze. Cable TV went out around 9PM last night and no idea when that will be up and running again. Bigges hassle I have is dealing with washing up in cold water. I ain't complaining. Lots of people lost a lot of things and from what I hear a couple dozen lost their lives. I am grateful for having made it through with nothing of any import lost. God speed to any and all of you with big issues to deal with in the aftermath.

saw this from my state rep:

Here's the deal Marlboro. So
some of the massive overhead powerlines by Lake Williams and S'Boro are down & can only be repaired by helicopter. Meeting w/ Lt Gov & Mayor to talk discuss plans at 10:15. N'Grid trying workaround to restore as much as possible.

rumor around town is up to 1 week to restore
