Many of you might remember my post almost almost exactly three years ago of the passing of my dad. Now I'm posting to tell you all my mom passed away this Wednesday at 96 years of age. Of course it was tough and will be for some time. However, it was time. Mom and dad were Harley riders for many years and had a great time riding. So many stories that are memories we'll have for a long time.
Many of you posted comments after I told some of their stories of riding before dad died. I shared those comments with them and it sure did bring a lot of pleasure to them. It stirred a lot of memories up and we talked a great deal after that about their time together riding their "machine". Thanks to you all for that! One story comes to mind that was pretty funny. Mom was on the back of the knuck and apparently a bit sleepy coming home one evening. They crossed over a small bridge and there was a bit of a bump, she became airborne for a brief moment and nearly left the buddy seat. After that she stayed awake. Many stories like that.
So, while we're sad we're also happy they are together again. Perhaps riding the "machine" again.
Here's a picture of the two of them about four years ago by our bike......
