I did this myself on my '06 SEUC.  It's tedious, but not too bad...the improvement in hand position is dramatic, and the look is MUCH better with the fat bars.  The Clutch line will probably be fine, with a little re-routing.  The Brake line...it depends...it'll be tight.  You may have to get a 2" longer line for the brake, so don't be totally shocked if that's the case.

Just take your time and expect it to be an all day deal in the garage... :2vrolijk_21:

I had to have a longer brake line, Which meant on my bike that I replace
the line from handle to calipers.

I had just the opposite..my brake line was fine, it was the clutch line that needed to be 3" longer.

Hmmm... thanks for the replies so far, gents. The guy at Wild 1 told me that they have been hearing from SG owners that they have not had to replace any lines... only reroute the existing ones. We'll see, I suppose... hopefully I can make the stock ones work! Replacing lines is a real, time-consuming P.I.T.A...

Don't want to take any chances scratching the tank on this bike, like I did by mistake on the Evo... so that's coming off FIRST!

Yea...mine was in '06, so there's no telling now.  I think they just grab whatever is available in stock on the production line and stick it on there.

NG...hopefully, you won't have any issues.  With the ABS, the brake line is routed differently than on my '06, so you may be good to go.

UPDATE: Outer fairing is off, radio pulled out, cables from handlebars all unplugged and un-zip-tied. The lower part of the inner fairing is in the way of the lower two handlebar bolts. Looks like I need to unbolt the inner fairing and at least move the inner up some, so it's out of the way to get the bars off... hopefully don't need to take it all the way off...  :nixweiss:
Then comes the FUN part of getting all of those tiny little wire plugs out of all the Deutsch connectors!   :huepfenjump3:

Good news is that both the brake line and the clutch line seem to have a couple of inches of wiggle room! Yea!  :2vrolijk_21:

They sure don't make this easy... I already know that I never want to do this again. Time for a break!   :drink:

I went throught this process twice last winter.  First helping my buddy put 575s on his 2010 Limited.  Then two weeks later I got my 575's installed. Routing everything through the bars was a P.I.T.A.  On my 05 I used all new stainless braded +2 cables.

Since I had the front end torn apart, I put Ricor Intimadators in the front forks, replaced all the front end bushings and steering head bearings too.

SO, you want the NAKED TRUTH, huh? Will take some before I put everything back together. Looks really sad right now... just the bare neck sticking up, like a beheaded Screamin' Chicken! Still can't believe the amount of stuff you have to take off just to get the handlebars off of this thing...

Tedious and time consuming....2 cigars and 4 beers, I recall...

I need the extra length lines I ordered, glad you have enough...I think HD has a plus or minus "whatever" length you need of 2 inches...

Worth it.
