I have been wanting an LED headlight/passing lamps for a long time - but the H-D unit is ridiculously expensive, and a frankly don't really like the look of it.

I saw on a headlight thread here the other day a link to Discount Fleet Supply and the new Truck-Lite LED units, with a 5% discount... $408 shipped, including GA state sales tax.

So, I ordered them on Wednesday, and they arrived yesterday (DFS is right here in Atlanta). I installed them right away, and here's how they look. Haven't tested them out at night yet, but they sure throw out the light in sitting in the garage! They are 5,800 Kelvin "pure white light", according to the product literature.

Ken, were they difficult to install?  Were  they just plug and play?  I really like them!  That price included the driving lamps too?   They look really awesome!  Could you send me the part numbers I need to put these on mine.  :P

Weeeeeeell... I'll spend $408 for them... but not $900! Mods are about to taper off to not much more... except I am going to get the Hayden M6 primary chain tensioner before too long. Other than that, I'm pretty much out of any more stuff to do... except RIDE!

They are pure plug 'n' play, Judy!

I removed the small twin harness for the CVO headlight, and just plugged the Truck-Lite headlight directly into the 3-prong connector on the main harness. The aux lamps plugged right into the existing harnesses. Couldn't be any easier!

This is a link to the post by CVO Jack containing the Truck-Lite 3-light set ordering info:  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=77204.msg1053475#msg1053475

And this is the direct link to Discount Fleet Supply for the set: http://www.discountfleetsupply.com/tlc27270c-3set.html

You won't even have to pay the GA state sales tax like I did...

Looks cool and thanks for posting! Looks like the aux lamps have a crescent shape cover on the outside bottom half? If so, did you put them on the aux lamps or did they come that way?

Thanks!

Good for you Ken.    Now you can easily find your way to Maggie Valley at night time.  I told you the truck light was the way to go..    They look great.   :2vrolijk_21:

I've already bought the Harley one or I would buy these if I had the chance to do it over.
I think this newer version is just as good as the HD ones.

From what I've read, it's better. It's a Phase 7 unit. I think it looks better when off, too. And it's WAY less $$$ than the H-D unit!

NGH,

I went with the HD LED's (dark) and added them in the deal on my 2012 CVO Ultra while I was in the "HeckwithitIhavespentthismuchmode" and have been well satisfied except when turning on sharp uphill and downhill curves which are very common in these parts. I really like the way the LED lights you installed look. Just curious how you like them?  I had to ride in a steady rain at night for about an hour in Western Ohio two weeks ago and the LED's really made the difference.

Thanks & God Bless

Well, honestly I haven't ridden at night since I got them. In fact, I haven't ridden much at all due to other things going on. I may take a little spin tonight to test them out in the dark. We have a lot of hills here too, and I am hoping the beam is pretty broad and not highly focused.

OK - now I HAVE ridden at night with the TruckLite Phase 7 LEDS... and Holy CRAP! It's like riding in the daytime! The light just spreads out evenly everywhere with no bright or dark spots anywhere. I LOVE THESE THINGS!

I also just ordered the Hayden M6 BT07 primary chain tensioner, an Energy One Extra Plate Clutch Kit, and an AIM 480 lb clutch spring to use with the new ClutchWiz (http://ClutchWiz.com) - to replace the rapidly-aging AIM VPC that just isn't holding the clutch tight anymore on this beast.

NGH,

That is great. I almost new you would be well satisfied with them.  No doubt this is a much cheaper option than the HD's.  If mine ever fail I will look at this option for replacements.  Once you go LED its difficult to go back.  Thanks for sharing.

Hi Ken, I missed you in MV  :-\.  Hopefully you can make it to Ribfest.  ::). Reading about your new addition to your clutch, I was curious if this new system you are going to replace your VPC with has an easy pull also.  I am really enjoying my VPC 70 but I do notice a few issues.  First, it can be difficult finding neutral at times and on occasion when I have the clutch lever pulled in my MC will try to roll forward in 1st gear.  Not all the time, but my concern is that this will become the norm someday.  Also, I have felt like the last 500 miles I've put on it, it feels like it has gotten stiffer and I am no longer getting the 40% relief in pull from stock.  Could you share with me what changes you noticed in yours that has caused you to switch to this new setup.  :nixweiss:
