Not posting this for any other reason than that it amused me after I realized it earlier today.
Used to be the case that this site was small enough that, literally or figuratively, all the active folks knew each other. With many actual friendships borne of the site's activity.
The place is of course way to big for that now. Still a generally pretty cordial group though. And pretty trusting. The way parts get handled is what illustrated that to me again this morning.
In the last year or so have sent a few boxes of parts outside the US to guys shut out by Mother Harley's new big brother policies on parts handling. With a box to Oz this morning just realized the effort had gone all the way around the world

.
In the last year pieces have been mailed to trusting riders from Norway, Sweden and Lithuania in Northern Europe or the Baltic. Czechs and Germans and Scots and Britons and a Frenchman also got pieces across the Atlantic. We've hit Egypt and the RSA for the Middle East and sub-Saharan Africa while Singapore and South Korea got us to Asia. Non-bike pieces also had gone to both the active war zones. This morning's box to Australia finished off the continents.
If only my bikes got as many miles as just a few of those parts
