Car tires

I have a 2009 Ultra Classic Screamin Eagle. Is there a car type tire you can use on the rear?

For the life of me I don't know why you would want to use a car tire! Welcome to the site from Tennessee! When you get a chance go to the "New Member" topic and introduce yourself.

Welcome to the site from Alabama, the only ones I have seen lately using car tires are Goldwing riders and those that do swear they get over 25,000 miles out of a rear tire.  Me I will stick with motorcycle tires.

Me too, Chains.  Opinions are like buttholes, but IMO, if you actually NEED a car tire on the bike for load reasons, you should probably consider taking a cage.  Great mileage probability, but car tires ain't meant for a bike.

It's come up before here.  Do a search by "car tire" and find the existing conversations.  Was generally perceived to be as poor an idea before as it is now.  Not so bad, of course, if you don't care much about turning.

Despite the naysayers on CTs, there are loads of Valks and Vulcans out there running them successfully.  All the dire theories go out the window with the experience of the CT crowd.  Tire selection and air pressure IS important though.  Bud of mine runs one on a Burgmann scooter and another bud runs one on a Valk and has so for years....gets >20K miles.  Me, I'm very satisfied with the mileage I get on OEM Dunlops on my HDs, but I have considered running one on my V2K.  Handling becomes like a worn out MC tire (flat on the bottom) from the get go.  So if you don't mind that kind of handling, go for it.  I'm not sure there is an equal CT for a CUSE though.

Anyone other than me notice lately how some brand new "members" make one ridiculous first post and then never post again?  Wouldn't you expect someone posting a question to respond to posts replying to his question if he was legit?  I often get the feeling we have some comedian around here starting new identities just to screw with folks.

Anyhow, yes indeed, put any kind of tire on that sucker you can shoehorn into the swingarm, it will be just fine.  Get a nice flat profile and you won't even need the jiffy stand to keep it upright while parked.

This particular guy's first post was the question above ^ .  His login has been used since then though.  As late as yesterday.  Just no more questions or responses.  Might also be that when one's first question isn't embraced enthusiastically he or she feels insecure about continuing.  Must be tough being that ins.....   oops, the outside voice almost got loose.
