Reviving an old thread here. For those of you that installed these a few years ago when this thread started, What's the verdict? Still happy with them? Was putting the big HINT HINT to the wife just now about these. B'Day is coming up quick.

I've got a set sitting on my workbench. Gonna install them as soon as I get the bike back from the shop.

I am trying to decide whether to add these doors or just put speakers there. Never use the storage with stock doors

I knew the original snap deals were junk [don't we all], so I never once pulled one open, about a year ago I bought the  HD locking covers, didn't know the aftermarket made any. Anyhow the hd ones are easy to install, the gasket seems kinda hokey at first but once compressed after closing them and leaving them closed a while seems to be ok. still wondering if I shoulda put speakers in there instead. I watched the install very carfully for fitment [especially the gasket because it's alaignment shows even when they are closed], I would say they are ok but if I did this again I would compare to the aftermarket parts before buying them.........Randy    Oh yeah forgot to say when you buy them you order them and they are keyed alike to the bikes key kinda nice. still have never put anything in them though kinda forgot about em.

I do use the lower boxes and the original snaps have never worked right. I'll be glad to get the mag doors installed.

I'm on the road a lot staying at hotels.  I use my lowers.  Because of security concerns, I installed the locking lowers.  Just as easy to install. MoCo will match the locks to your ignition key.  The whole process was about ten days after ordering.  I'm trying to remember if I even sent them the key or just gave them the VIN and such (dealer had my key info if I recall).  I have lubed my locks one time in 2 yrs.   A worthy alternative to magnetic doors if security is a concern.

As the original buyer of an '11 FLTRUSE (Rio/Black), I extend my condolences. From the day I rolled it off the showroom floor, this bike has been EXACTLY what I'd wanted and I'm pretty sure it's never going anywhere. I've never had a 905 pound bagger I could toss around like this!

I was going to get the magnetic doors, but now a friend has given me a pair of the HD locking ones.  (He replaced these with some kind of cup holders).
I think I like the idea of the mag ones better.  I lock things of value in the hard bags.
I haven't installed the locking ones yet, so now I don't know which way to go.  Kind of a PITA to have to use a key to open them every time.   :nixweiss:

Changing out to the magnetic doors was easy! They are a great improvement to the POS original doors.
I use mine all the time! 1 for my kickstand plates & the other 1 for my sun glasses & shortie gloves. Sometimes I throw my keys/fobs in them when riding.

I think the lockable ones would be a pain to access when riding!

Just my 2 cents!

Yeah, they are a pain when riding.  Are folks actually reaching into lowers while riding?  Just curious?   ???
