I put some 18" apes on my 2011 RK.  They look awesome and for riding around town I do not want the windshield.  But I also go on cross country trips each summer and would like the option of putting it on for the long rides.  I love my handlebars where they are so I do not want to bring them back to me to make room and that makes me realize I may just have to live without the windshield.

I do have a great fabricator near my home which is who I was going to see if he could make me a custom piece to let me attach the windshield.  I don't think there is an adapter, I have asked the dealer and Stroker's here in Dallas.

Has anyone fixed this issue and not mind telling me how you did it.

thanks to all who have any and all ideas.

Joe, who knows?

Y'know.... just in case this 1 post wonder is legit and not just another of the single post merceneries that have shown up recently to see if being inane can be made to be a sport I'll give the gentlemen the benefit of the doubt and the courtesy of a response.

Sir.  If your handlebars hit your detachable windshield you are correct.  Your windshield won't fit.  If the pieces obstruct each other they can not be used together.  This is because, of course, two objects can not occupy the same space at the same time.  Unless, and also obviously, one expands the definition of "object" to include bosons.  Then, indubitably, and using the example of a photon and consdering it a wave the law of superposition could apply.  Since, however, neither your windshshield nor your handlebars are bosons (in any form of matter [pardon the pun]) they can't be in the same place at the same time and you should, therefore, see that fabricator.

If the gentlemen is just another of the recent single post dipsticks wasting space as several have (or the same person has repeatedly) recently, well...

Maybe try a couple small pieces of metal and some vise-grips.
