With a 1/4 helmet you have to aim at something.  If I go down the last thing I am going to think about is "where is the helmet on my head?"

All kidding aside, I had an accident in high school many years ago.  I had a 1/2 helmet and the only parts of me that hit were my hands, knees and face.  Oral surgery cost a lot even with insurance.

In my not-so-humble opinion, a quarter/half/whatever you want to call it helmet is a waste of perfectly good plastic with only one purpose; barely meeting minimum legal requirements where helmets are required.  Anyone interested in actually protecting themselves and their loved ones, versus just being "legal", shouldn't consider anything less than a 3/4 Snell helmet.  I personally prefer a full face, but I can understand that some folks find them to confining.  One slide down the highway on the ol' face, or one rock thrown up by that truck up ahead, makes all those "too confining" arguments a little less convincing, however.

A shattered jaw and permanent nerve damage made my argument a little less convincing.  I now wear a flip face helmet full time (even in non-helmet states).  My pretty lil' mug is worth more than all the dumb chit!

Have not been able to find one of these helmets.  Can't even find it on HD website.  Is this an old helmet  that is no longer offered by HD.  Is this a good helmet.

Broken teeth, a root canal and a cap are what made me a believer in full face helmets.

I bought one for my husband in the fall of '07. Our local stealer had one in stock, but it was to big. Finally found one on Ebay for $255, but it took them 6 weeks to deliver it!
