OCD HELP!?!?!?!
« on: June 12, 2006, 03:20:32 PM »

Alright....OCD is kickin in, recently had the chrome inner primary done, now the rest don't look right....so I added the HD Version of Kuryakyn's Cylinder Base Cover and it looks good.

Now I wanna work on the other side a little bit so I'm thinkin maybe the Rear Cylinder Base

and then I saw the Chrome Neck Covers

and the Mid-Frame Covers

Has anybody added any of these and how do ya feel about em if ya did??  I need specific info for the neck covers on the '06 models because there is more cabling up there than previous years and I wanna make sure it's all gonna fit behind the chrome.......most of the rest of the tranny/engine interface covers don't work with the 6sp or the Hydraulic Clutch so those are out, unless someone tells me they got them to work....then perhaps I'll be adding another.... [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]  My reasons for doing this are simple.....chrome is easier to clean than that damn silver coated engine, and the same for the frame rail stuff, I hate cleaning but want the bike to look good still (with minimal effort)....it's that simple....I'm lazy... These aren't mounted on an '06, but MYCVO (Mark) has Neck Covers, and Mid Frame Covers on his '04 SEEG. Check out this thread/post - Best CVO Picture 2006

As for the transmission cover case if you look at Porthole's homepage and use the link of "SEEG has it's own page now" you will see a picture of that cover on his bike.

I have the Kuryakyn chrome primary cover and HD collar cylinderbase....I also am thinking to install the rear cylinder base from Kuryakyn....in my previous Electra Glide SE '04 I had installed the neck covers from HD and I took them off and I ried to installed in my '06 and I couldn't....too many wires passing for the neck......so I didn't do it... Thanks, looks like the neck and mid-frames are a done deal (with hopes for the wiring fitting), but the tranny piece I'm still worried about, I've got the 6sp, wonder if it'll still fit since it moves the end of the tranny cover out about 1/2" or so.......Hmmmm...

Yeah they've supposedly changed the neck covers to allow for more wiring up there......

Chrome is nice, but the silver engine is easy to clean. I just spray s100 on the cold engine and rub a sponge over it and spray it off. Then I dry it with my leaf blower the (engine) not the whole bike. [smiley=nervous.gif]

If you mean that piece they describe as a rear cylinder base cover it'll work fine.  Got it on with a six speed.  No problems and still covers the area that dirties up at the cases interface.

No I'm talking about the interface between the tranny and engine on the side....

Hey FR8TRN, try spraying some PJ-1 on those stubborn oil/grease spots......they magically 'disappear'. It's for the silver motor as the PigSpit is for the black motor.  Magic in a spray can.   [smiley=vrolijk_24.gif] har!  spyder

Yep, most auto parts stores around here carry it.  Only thing I've found that will work w/ the silver finish motor for oil/grease stains.  I agree with you on adding as much chrome......not only does it make the silver motor easier to clean (it's a bitch compared to the black wrinkle) but it makes it look better the more you add.  I'm waiting for my first ding/scratch/ or unremovable stain to install the chrome inner primary, but I know it'll look good when I get there.  [smiley=cool26.gif]har!  spyder
