Stung by a Yellow Jacket???
« on: September 13, 2011, 10:41:44 PM »

2012 Ultra Crystal Citron/ Diamond Dust

Today I went to look at this "Yellow Jacket" or maybe a "Bumble Bee" at Bumpus today. I have 1st dibbs on it and was anxious to see it in person. I must say I was a bit dissapointed that the yellow didn't have enough flake in it to suit ME. It was partly sunny when I looked at it and may pop a little more in direct sunlight. Will be back in the morning to get another peak to see if I will pull the trigger. I posted these in the Ultra section but thought I'd post these pictures incase some don't make it that far down. ;D

JR,  The bike may be ugly but you look pretty good on it.   :huepfenlol2:   :huepfenlol2:  Just kidding of course!  If you like it, go for it.

Gonna keep the nana spyd, still makes me warm and fuzzy when ever I see her. I was looking to possibly add another to the stable but not sure if I'm gonna pull the trigger yet. Giving another go at it in the morning. Well see what tomorrow brings. :nixweiss:

I am hearing you there, the flake brings them to life but that smile tells me your thinking hard about it.
Good luck with your decision  :2vrolijk_21:

JR

The 12 is a fine bike and has many touring and safety upgrades. You may never realize their value until you get into one of those "aw crap" moments.
The value of those upgrades could then prove to be priceless. I have 2 different friends in the past year that are still here because they have ABS brakes. Just this past weekend a good friend of mine with his wife as a passenger on their 03 SERK crashed into the back of a car. He is still in the hospital, Nancy and I going to her funeral tomorrow. I'm not trying to seem morbid but the upgrade to the new frame and the addition of the ABS out shadow ANY of my issues or concerns with the 110. Nancy's next bike will be a bike with ABS regardless of how good the flake shows in the paint. I think your 05 is beautiful but believe me, there is a bigger picture here.
Think about it.

I agree with SBB. The ABS is a great thing. Never know when you will need it.
That is a great looking bike. Good luck.

Is there really a question John?  I mean how you gonna back away from that one? :nixweiss:

Tell your lovely wife.....the great cook she is.......the only thing it needs is chrome calipers. :2vrolijk_21:          :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

Or better yet......just take her for a quick ten mile ride......it'll be parked in your garage tonight. ;D

JR, agree with the others that the brake/frame upgrades alone may be worth the move. It's also always good to have two yellow bikes in case one is down. Any chance you can swap colored parts once you get the new one? I prefer the Yellow/Silver to to the Yellow/Black and like the styling of your old bike as well. You could have yourself a CCVO!
