I don't know ... you walked away from it twice, that says something, too.  When they called and said the '04 came in and I went there and saw the below, it was over!  And the two or three days I had to wait to pick it up were miserable.  Those are the feelings that'll have to happen again for me to move into something new, nevermind the ABS, new frame, or whatever other new safety/handling/comfort features they integrate.  If you don't like the looks of it and don't have an emotional attachment to it to begin with, you're not going to get one from the ABS, I don't think. :nixweiss:

I've got to agree with Brian's comment.  When I saw my 2001 SERG, and my 2004 SEUC SEEG's, and my current bike - it was like I had a fever.  There was no question, I couldn't buy them and get them home fast enough...   :)

Other bikes that I've considered - and didn't buy - didn't have the same effect on me.  It's a sign!

JR

The 12 is a fine bike and has many touring and safety upgrades. You may never realize their value until you get into one of those "aw crap" moments.
The value of those upgrades could then prove to be priceless. I have 2 different friends in the past year that are still here because they have ABS brakes. Just this past weekend a good friend of mine with his wife as a passenger on their 03 SERK crashed into the back of a car. He is still in the hospital, Nancy and I going to her funeral tomorrow. I'm not trying to seem morbid but the upgrade to the new frame and the addition of the ABS out shadow ANY of my issues or concerns with the 110. Nancy's next bike will be a bike with ABS regardless of how good the flake shows in the paint. I think your 05 is beautiful but believe me, there is a bigger picture here.
Think about it.

JR,

Last year going to MV, a car pulled out in front of me. No time for anything except lock it down, both front and rear brakes. ABS brakes worked flawlessly. Couldn't believe how fast it came to a stop. Of course, I still hit the car, but, barely. I honestly believe that if I didn't have the bike with ABS brakes, I'd be either dead or at a minimum banged up pretty bad.

Buy the bike!

Never heard of anyone on their death bed wishing they had saved more money.  ;D

Ken, I want to know one thing...has anyone told you today that they love you, well I do buddy! ;D  :2vrolijk_21: Since they came out with ABS I wanted it. Anyone that rides knows it can be a life saving benefit. My next bike will definitely have em! :2vrolijk_21:

JR...Is the dark color on the bike more or less Charcoal Gray with sparse silver flecks?  The silver stripe matches your helmet... ::)  The yellow on top looks good, and the silver separates the two colors well.

A mid year SERGU?  I don't know about that one.  Frankly, I was surprised that they didn't do a second year, but there must not be a lot of demand for a RG with TP...I guess folks want RG's to be Low and Lean.  If I was a betting man, I'd put the odds on a SERGU at 100:1, particularly since the SERGX seems to be moving well.

Terry, I'm not a betting man either and realize it's likely not to happen and I'm OK with that. :2vrolijk_21:

Sounds like wisdom to me. Not like you don't have a bike to ride. Hope you find a settled place on the decision.

And a fine one too!  2 bikes are good, but you can take your time to get just the one and the right deal since your riding a SEEG. :-*  har.  spyder

Buy early...Thanks! I want to believe it's being wise and Syde that is my thought process too! :2vrolijk_21:

Good luck with your decision and keep the faith...

That's exactly what I'm doing and sums up Gary and Brian's comments too! As I was driving to view the bike for the first time I prayed and asked God for patience and asked God to direct me in making the right decision. Don't let my "wants" make my decision. But if it's His will then allow me to know it's right! Viewing the bike the Crystal Citron didn't look like there's any flake at all in the paint. They brought it outside and everyone is trying to look at it to point out some flake and there is some, but you really have to look for it! I even started to laugh. Look at us, looked like we were in a football huddle! :2vrolijk_21: Mr D said he saw one in direct sunlight and it did have a "Pop" to the yellow so that's why I wanted to see it in direct sunlight before I decide against it. If they had painted the Yellow like the O/B, I'm sure I would be installing the Fullsac headers and baffles right now! But it doesn't. It is a beautiful bike and so is my SEEG, I STILL get warm and fuzzy when I see it and don't think it's wrong to want that feeling in my next bike too!  :2vrolijk_21:

Sorry for all the drama over making my decision. All of these comments I do appreciate, respect and consider them. Thanks to all, God Bless! :2vrolijk_21:

You've got to be swept off your feet by the bike.  "Settling" doesn't work.  The Stratoliner I had was a perfectly good motorcycle in every way, EXCEPT it just never really blew my skirt up.  It was functional, but I had no emotional attachment to it, like I did with the '06 SEVROD and the '06 SEUC.  But, things happen for a reason, and the Strat was a bridge to get where I wanted to be.  I was fully prepared to go "bikeless" for a while until Judi and I went to the HD dealer back in January.  In fact, I had not even looked at any of the new CVO bikes since '09, 'cause I knew it wasn't in the cards at that point in time.  Flash forward to Jan '11...new potential BSR and the love of my life, other things had settled, and we walked in and there sat the Rio Red SERGU.  It spoke to both of us, but it took us a week to finally decide that we only go around once in this life. Went in on a Sunday afternoon to see if it was still there, agonized over spending the money for a little while, test drove a RG Limited and was seriously considering it...while I was test driving, Judi   :smitten: started the paperwork on the SERGU, so when I got back from the test ride, all that was needed was to finalize the price and sign on the dotted line.  I could never have done it alone, but Judi insisted.  How's that for a great partner in life?  So now we have what for me is the ultimate bike, and one that does blow my skirt up.  It's got to feel right on something like a bike...you know it in your heart.  Let's face it...it doesn't make SENSE to buy one of thest bike, we just get 'em 'cause it's the right bike at the right time.

So JR...if it's meant to be, it will happen.  Take another look on a beautiful sunny day and you'll know.

Yellow Yellow Yellow  ::) ::) Yellow Yellow Yellow !! Everywhere you know I like Lust Yellow vehicles. I looked at one at Signature Harley in Toledo 3 days ago. I agree it does not POP like my FLTRSE3 but I sure do like the looks of the design. I think Harley did a nice job. If I needed a 2nd Dresser it would be a great addition to the stable.

Yes I AM! Today was a great day! Yesterday I asked the salesman to pull the bike outside again and let me know if it looks any better in full sun. He called me back and said he thought it was but it's my call. Told him I couldn't get there until today. Woke up this morning and it was cloudy with a chance of rain. :( I thought great, wish I could have made it yesterday. Then I saw some break in clouds and headed to the dealer. When I got the clouds were blocking the sun. Walked up front and they had my bike out there and then the clouds opened up and sun hit right on it. It looked fantastic. Nothing like my nana but I knew it wouldn't be. The other day the flakes were really speratic. Today it was much tighter and looked great. Also saw a lot more flake in Diamond Dust. Told him I seen enough...Let's do it! ;D

Congrats on the new bike, John!

Another SEEG bites the dust. :(

Brian I think you know how I felt about my nana and you know how much he offered me. It will be going to a guy I work with and it will be in my garage until he builds his shop. I hate to let it go but I know where it will be and sure made him happy so that makes me happy! I think.... :nixweiss:
