DEALER MISTAKES
« on: June 20, 2004, 10:03:03 PM »

I bought my bike late last fall I've got 2000miles on it (crappy weather) someone just asked me about my pipes and air cleaner. When I ordered my bike I told them I wanted the high flow air cleaner should of been part #29440-99b I went to my purchase order to double check the numbers and the air cleaner I have is #29773-02A which is for the 1450 motor. I know that a smaller air cleaner isn't going to hurt anything but performance. If I'm reading this wrong someone please set me straight before I go talk to the dealer. And I'm sure for the right price they'll correct thier mistake.
                                Thanks

They gave you the correct air cleaner.  There is no difference between the air filter for a 1450 and a 1690 when bought as the air cleaner kit.  The difference is the fact that the old EFI unit on the Alpha motor is different than the current EFI unit.  That was changed for model year 2002, hence the -02A designation.  That means it will fit the touring models back to 2002.

Starvin', I viewed earlier but wanted to check my part number before replying.  My understanding of this is exactly what h2o said and I actually have the same part number as you on my bike.
