LED headlight install
« on: September 18, 2011, 04:42:25 PM »

I tried to replace my stock headlight this morning with the LED replacement. When I he moved the headlight, there were two separate hid bulbs with their own plugs. The LED replacement only has one plug. The instructions are useless and don't mention anything about this. Has anyone done this install?
Help
Thanks

if you follow the halogen plugs back you should find them plugged into the H4 connector you are looking for

There are separate rogue wires that go into the plug along with the hid plugs.

Dave,

71628-04 is listed in the parts catalogue at the bottom of the description of the LED headlight for 06' thru 10' FLHTCUSE models as a requirement. I haven't done the conversion myself so I can't say for sure, just trying to help.

Tom....I really appreciate you're help. Just thought it was funny because you think the motor company would call this something else like "headlight adapter harness" or something like that.
I'll order one in the morning and report back after I try the install again.
Thanks much.

Nitram said it right.............The H4 connector that plugs directly into the LED plug behind your new lite, is the plug that right now has your "split" harness for the two bulbs you have.

Just unplug those,  and plug in your new lite and your good to go...............Now if you happen to have the GDO feature on your scoot,  that will call for another harness cause you will lose that function without it. :cherry:

Have you done the install? As posted earlier, there are multiple wires that plug into the three prong plug. If you have pix please post.
Thanks

the wires should look like the small harness in the middle of this picture, unplug it and plug in your LED head light.

as moscooter said the only issue is if you use you GDO ( garage door opener its wired to that short harness )

OK....I moved and never did the install. I just took apart the stock headlight. i've attached 2 pictures to let you see the wires. I don't see what to do once i've unplugged the connector that goes to the 2 separate bulbs. Where does this harness with the 2 bulbs go to??
Thanks
