I have seen much on the ARC 125.2, but very little on the 125.4, and some the new JM amp.  But it seems like the JL XD400/4 400W 4 Channel Amplifier is the best choice for a fairing install.  Does anyone have the JL in their bike, and what is your opinion on on it?  Any opinions would be greatly appreciated from those who actually have installed any 4 channel amp in the fairing.  Thanks for any thoughts.

The JL Audio amp will not fit on top of the radio and allow the outer fairing to go back on.
I contacted them and offered to send my stock SESG2 amp to them for max dimensions and they had no interest.

Would love to run the marine version of the XD400/4 but don't want to give up bag space (yet).
If you figure out a way to fit it in the batwing let me know.

ARC Ks 125.4 Mini - ARC Audio 4 Channel 500 Watt Amplifier 11.6 x 5.15 x 1.7

Here is the link where I have seen that it was installed.

J&M ROKKER series 500w 4-ch Amplifier measures 10 5/8” X 5” X 1 5/8”
I have perssonally seen this one installed in an FLHXSE2 in sturgis -- so i can vouch for it.

JL Audio's XD400/4 -- •Dimensions: 8-1/2"L x 7-1/16"W x 2-1/16"H

I see the problem, JL is 2 inches wider, but 2 inches shorter width wise.  With an aftermarket head unit,  "may" work in theory since there is a gain of an inch top spacing, so it may sit back further than the other two -- but have not heard of it working yet.

When I find one, i will post it.

The Arc 125.4 and the J&M 500W amps require the plastic cups securing the speedo and tach be modified by removing 1/2" or or so of material from them to allow the amps to be installed as far back from the front as possible.
The JL is 2" deeper than either of those amps and ~1/2" taller; as tight as the fits are for those two amps, the significantly larger depth and height of the JL are not promising.

Try fabbing a box to replicate the installed size of the JL (taking into account a shorter aftermarket head unit to replace the HK if that's your plan) and see if it fits.

I have the JL 400/4 under my fairing but I have an Alpine head unit installed in
Hawg Wireds bracket.
Upgrading it to the 700/5 when my saddle bag lids and grills arrive.

I will second the notion that the JL will not fit on stock radio. My car stereo dealer got one in from his rep who told him it would fit, but I took it home & proved them wrong. I even cut the tabs off the back of my gauges to try & make room - I got very close, but gave up, didn't want to keep taking more off my gauges, took off at least 1/2".
Had I known more about touring bikes & that there were kits to keep my hand controls I would have perhaps switched to an Alpine & went with the JL all at the same time.
I guess I had to learn the hard way since it's my first touring bike....

Won't fit with the stock head unit. Fits easily with the Hawg Wired mounting kit.

Which Alpine deck?

Any heat issues?  Not that it will change my mind, but just curious.

Is the Hawg Wired bracket sturdy?  Is there only one style bracket, or what model number did you use?
