Has anyone installed one of these yet.? How hard is the install. I looked at directions & you have to make the pins to plug in to exsisting harness under seat..They do give you all the parts to do it. Pins & plug.

Very easy install, took about 1/2 an hour, was more bothered about drilling a hole in my new tour pak, in the end I put the wire through the rubber that sits underneath at the front of the tour pak.

Agree with Paul1: I sometimes have two left hands, but this one was quite easy. It comes with all the cables and material that you need. The Airwing has holes on one side, even the screw that fixes it on the luggage rack has a hole in it so I didn't have to drill anything. It was done in 45min, and it works

Did u remove the luggage rack or leave it on when u did the install.??

I installed one as well leaving the luggage rack on the bike. I used needle nose pliers and a soldering iron to install the pins for the plug. Took me under an hour.

I only removed the airwing rack, nothing else.

Can u buy the pins that go inside the connectors from the dealer. I didn't like the way i crimped mine & want to re-do the connections. Is there a way to crimp these the correct way..?

There is a specific crimping tool to crimp them correctly.

Others here have indicated they were able to use other tools.. I wasnt successful. I actually got the correct tool from HD...

The instructions with the kit should have a "service parts list" at the end, and should show the p/n for the sockets that go on the ends of the wires.

If not, take a look at the p/n's for this HD adapter that uses the same accessory connector you used to connect to; it shows the p/n as "socket terminal" 72191-94:

Fry's sells an inexpensive (~$10) open barrel crimp tool, Philmore WS26, that will do the job.

This is the kind of job, crimping sockets to three wires, that a tech would do for free or a tip if you have a good relationship with your local dealer.
