Fullsac X-Pipe vs. VH Power Duals
« on: September 23, 2011, 09:40:23 AM »

Need some advice..... My paln for 2012 SG is the following:
1)   Arlen Ness Big Sucker
2)   CFR slip-ons
3)   SE Race Tuner
4)   New Head Pipes (Fullsac X or VH Power Duals)

Which is the better head pipes? Will this be a good stage 1 set-up?

Thanks for your opinions.

Unless you just prefer the looks of the big sucker, the stock ventilator A/C is fine.  Flows plenty of air.

Who has the better head pipe, Fullsac or V&H?  Not sure if there's an answer to that question.

1.  Not sure why you want the Big Sucker unless you just like spending money.  As others have said, the Ventilator is already a free-flowing breather.
2.  Mufflers are personal taste.  Some will stick to a single brand because that's what they've always had.  Others will "play" around with different mufflers.  (I've used SE, V&H, Klock Werks, and putting Bassani on my '12 SESG)
3.  Go with whatever tuner your dyno tech is the most comfortable/familiar with.  I've always used the SESPT.
4.  I had the V&H Power Duals on my '10 SESG and was very happy with the performance and looks.  Can't go wrong with them.  I am putting the Fulsac X pipe on my '12 SESG, because I want to keep the stock look for the headers on this bikes, and you use the stock heat shields with the X pipe.  I don't know if there's much performance difference between the two.  :nixweiss:

Everybody does something different.  What it boils down to is what do you want to do and that's all that really matters.

RD,
Would you say the X-Pipe and Power Duals are similar in controlling heat? I had the Fullsac system on my 09 SEUC but I'm still undecided on what to use on the new FLTRUSE.  :nixweiss:

My 2 cents to the above question- the fullsac is ceramic coated, so it will run cooler than a non ceramic coated pipe, like the V&H.

I would agree, but, you will be hard pressed to notice a difference.
On the other hand, stock cat head pipe vs. the others show a HUGE reduction in heat under your right foot!!

I just did power duals with monster rounds along with the fuelpak and throttlepak with Vance & Hines. Huge difference... great sound and seat of the pants
performance increase with huge heat reduction.   :2vrolijk_21:

Nice info. That is the combination I am considering. ;D My previous experience with Vance & Hines was good. I thought their exhaust fit well and the chrome on the heat shields was excellent. I was a bit disappointed in the fit of the stock heat shields on the Fullsac X-Pipe on my previous bike.

You have both the Fuelpak and Throttlepak?

Jerry,
What was wrong with the fit of the heat shields on the "X" pipe.  Very interested, as I'll be picking my SESG up Monday and want to know what to look for.

I would use the Fullsac over VH. The testing I have done on a Dyno is Fullsac is better. But what I have found even better is cutting out cat. converter out. I have gained 2hp/2ftg over full sac x pipe. Using Full sac CVO baffles.
And for the cost is $200 over $479. Alot of savings
