Chrome Front Fork Air Baffle
« on: October 02, 2011, 10:09:54 AM »

I gotta question... ::) On my SEEG I had one of these baffles on and also had one on my RK. I purchased it to replace the black baffle that came on it with a chrome one and really liked the added touch of shine it brought. It's relatively cheap (around $20 with discount) and looks good on the bike. Here is my question. On my 12 Ultra I noticed there isn't even a baffle there anymore. Why? Can I still put this chrome baffle on my scoot to supply my addiction for chrome? Or is there a reason they don't use it on the 110 motors? My think'n is with this on it keeps air from coming up fairing and down on engine. :nixweiss: Whatta you think??? :D

Here it is off the HD site.

That's a good question.   I don't have one on my 04, mainly because it's hot down here and I'll take any wind that I can get.  I just don't notice or see them any more on newer bikes. Other than allowing more air around the rider with all the heat that comes with the new bikes, maybe that's why they are less popular lately.  :nixweiss:

Is it possible they were replaced by the air dampers on the highway bar? At least maybe on the Road glide? Not sure! Here is a link to the thread on the hi way bar deflectors.

Got a baffle on my '09 SERG3 and notice no ill effects. Are the holes tapped on the triple tree? If so I'd go for it. I'm guessing there's no problem adding it; just a way for the Moco to get another 20 bucks.

Yes mounting holes drilled and tapped, just trying to get the extra $20.00.

I agree JR - go for it.  I too like the touch of extra chrome and have added it to my '07 cuse and my '11 ruse.
