Lifting points with motorcycle jack?
« on: October 12, 2011, 09:44:36 PM »

I have a Craftsman motorcycle jack and am getting ready to start working on installing my Legend Air Suspension system on my FLHXSE3.  However, I am unsure of the safest place to put this jack under my bike.  On my softails it is pretty cut and dry, but these touring frames have got a lot More going on!!

without tour pack and youre planning on dropping the rear to swap shocks... about midway on the flat portion of the frame. Lift... test, and if you're removing major parts strap the bike to the lift so it doesnt escape.

You'll have to put the arms forward or back enough to mount the compressor between the frame members and give you some room to clamp it down...you can determine that position with the bike on the Jiffy stand before sliding the jack arms under.  I've not used the Craftsman, but probably a good idea to tie it down just to be safe
