Heated gear thermostat mount ideas
« on: October 21, 2011, 11:53:50 AM »

This is what I came up with. I put it on a an extra acc switch (fused) straight from battery to be able to turn it off so I don't forget to turn it off and kill the battery. Any better ideas?

Man, you sure have class in your choice and color of bike! ;D

Is that the stock blank switch cover that you drilled for the t-stat?   And it looks like it has a red light in it also?  Or is that a different item?

I was curious about doing this as well and had a conversation with Jim (hd-dude) about this awhile back.

Yea it is the stock blank, added another acc switch before the thermostat (So I can cut power before thermostat). red light is just like the one on the portable thermostat. Works real good and didn't have to drill nothing but the blank.

I use two gerbing panel mount thermostats. They are mounted in the fairing with two different indicator lights. Had been looking for smaller knobs, never found anything I liked so these have been here for several years.

I posted this photo of a 2 zone controller awhile back. The upper right inset shows the business end of the controller.

Yeah that'll work and cheaper to replace if you don't like the holes.

I'm using all 4 switches in mine though, so that wasn't an option.
